hi guys just to inform you of what happened to me over the last few weeks.

It started when I noticed a vibraton after continous driving on the motorway, and noticing an abnormal amount of heat from the front brakes, she was due a service so I took her in and told them about the vibration, I was informed that as part of a full service the brakes would be checked etc.

I picked the car up and they indicated minor faults but nothing to do with the brakes, so a few days later I set off on a journey roughly 75 miles, I got less than 15 when I had the vibration again, it got that bad I pulled over into a services and got the car recovered to my destination, on inspection by a garage there, they informed me that my calipers were seized on the front, this was causing the vibration when it heated up.

They then informed me it was £450 each caliper!!! :headvswal

They also said that only an ibacile would miss this kind of thing on a major service!!!

It worked out I got the calipers (recon) for £90 +VAT each and got a garage to fit them for £85.

Ihave since been in touch with the garage, and again was polite and requested a complete refund from the service, this was eventually granted.

hope this might be of some use to people.

this is a common problem,60% of zeds will have at least one sticky calliper piston, when i change brake pads the pistons are freed up with some spray and pressed back in until they work effectivly

I need to get brake pads changed soon also.

do u do all servicing work yourself or do u recommend a good garage that knows what they are doing on a Zed??
