I'd be up for it, but my problem is not having spare lights, and it being my everyday car, if anyone can think of a solution?>

Above is a solution. Are you in??

I have a spare set of insert on the way too, so can pass on etc etc

Right...well I'm ready and waiting, that was the longest

i ever held me breath, takin those glass lenses off LOL

quick question, do i take the bits off that go around the

project lense or leave em on??? arrowed in purple.

How hard was it to take them apart bud?

to be completely honest, i was brickin it.

the How TO i was copying said it would take about 3 hours to split em EXCLUDING the removal time from the car.

took me 35 mins to get em apart, IMO it was easy as fook.

hair dryer on full belt, and just find somewhere ya can get a spade ended

screwdriver in and gentle tease it apart. Reminded me a little of take a bike tyre of lol.

But because i say its easy, don't go hell for leather at it, or as said, they may smash. just let the heat do the work.

Fookin 'ell! i just looked at the guides. Looks a proper pain in the arse!

Its not that bad really, but if anyone does it and does manage to break the glass I should have a spare pair in the garage somewhere. ;)

taking the h/lamp out the car is easier than it sounds, but the 2 at the back in the middle may prove a git, luckily for me i have already stripped the front of my car, so had NO ac rad or ac stuff in the way ;)

you can do it bud ;)

I reckon most of us wont have time to strip the lights till the weekend, so If we aim to get group buy finalised by friday, then ship them out monday ?

How we handling payments (and deposits?) ?

I have emailed VMS asking if its ok to each send our light inners off to them with cheques enclosed for £70.00 plus VAT, then once chromed have them sent back to us. Cheers ;)

wouldn't mind getting a set, would you sell your spare inserts?

Well thats the plan. When my inserts arrive, ill send them off to be chromed. When they get back, ill fit them and sell on my original inserts.

you can have first dibs.

Cheers

Scott

Count me in. Just gotta sort out how i can get my cash and inserts to you. I have one light out so will get the other out saturday and split them. I havent a cheque book out here :(

If you want mate you can wire the money to my account and ill send a UK cheque in for you with a letter explaining who its from and u can send ur lights into them... or try and get there bank details (in fact that would be easier :slap: ) and wire the money to them :D

Be very carefull taking the glass lens off they do crack!!! EASY

I had one crack on me on my brand new lights!! Lucky I had some spare

glass!! Also remember the reason for the higher cost is due to

sombodys labour but most of all 3 sets of carrage @ 14 quid + VAT

The normal price for metalization is::

14.00 carrage to vmc

100.00 metalization

14.00 carrage back

14.00 carrage to you

All + VAT

=166.85 + any labour or second hand lamps

so lets say 40.00 labour

and 80.00 for a second hand set of lamps from AndyP

plus his carrage on those to you! 10.00 because he is on bulk

Compleat project price= 296.85

So dont think that anybody has been overchaging in the past

because you are getting to do the job cheeper!

mine cost seriously more as I bought new lamps as well

Then you will want to put new lamps in them too

as they are out!!

By the way I am not  just thought you need to know why the job

is so costly

Plus if you break a glass its More money
