Greddy or Blitz boost controller?

Right my fellow speed demons,

Boost controllers? I know this is like asking how long a piece of string is but I'm hoping to get some responses from guys or gals who actually have these or have used these in the past.

Greddy Profec A boost controller looks and sounds the absolute bollox to be honest but then so does the new Blitz ID controller?

I would love to hear some input from anyone to be honest, whether they be Soup drivers, Scooby, 200 boys or whoever.

Timmy - I would go with the the EZ EVC or a corresponding part from the manufacturer of your choice - not to belittle your knowledge of boost and the car and all but the EZ EVC type controller - you just dial in the boost you want and go - no messing with open / loop / duty cycles Etc. If you start dettin you can turn it down a bit of you feel like pushing it on a dyno run - you can increase it a bit - non of this optimum settin rubish - I suspect a lot of people that are running a more complex EVC dont' have the boost they think they do !

I agree Nick,

That's why I thought the Profec A would be more sensible than say an AVC-R which you need to take a night school in advanced math and Einsteins theory of relativity etc. to work out how to switch the thing on! LOL biggrin.gif

DSBC are the way to go also aren't they? What about Profec B then? Designed more for boost muppets like me? wink.gif

I've got a Blitz DSBC and put it this way, even I've figured out how to use it! biggrin.gif

It really is so simple, I really recommend it to anyone who isn't a Z/tuning guru. BTW, I've also helped Warren set up his Blitz ID metre and that was very simple too, BUT you could do all the fancy stuff if you wanted to. At it's simplest level,it was no more complex than my DSBC. If I were you, I'd go for the ID metre if you've got the money (cos it looks cool as well) or the DSBC (cos its the simplest to set up BC there is).

Cheers,

Andy

Andy mate,

You're confusing me(which doesn't take too much effort) I'm on about the Blitz SBC(Sequential Boost Controller) ID jobby.

Warren has got the ID meter and Boost controller hasn't he?

I know Nick said keep it simple but I was under the impression that these two controllers aren't OTT like the AVC-R etc.

I like the Profec but I'm swaying towards the Blitz as it can talk to the Power Meter!

Oh my head hurts now! biggrin.gif

Sorry Timmy, I was confusing the units. I still stand beside my choice of the DSBC - it really is the easiest BC on the market.

The ID meter that Warren has is super easy to set up as well. You can't compare it to the AVC-R when it comes to complexity. If you can afford it, I would definately go for it.

Andy

Timmy.

See me for a totally informal but informed chat.

I find the HKSEVC4 a very complicated unit to install. Tastes nice tho and gave my flatulence a boost, so to speak smile.gif
