Hi guys,

Absolutely, totally drunk as a drunk thing.

I stay in Scotland and my dad stays in Hookwood, Horley in Surrey.

Stayed, is the proper word as he died at the weekend.

Wasn`t a surprise as he has been ill for sometime, but still a bummer.

Its only just after 10.30pm, but methinks I have a few more whiskies to sink.

No love lost between us, lot of water under the bridge etc, etc

Cant really explain why I am writing this just pissed I suppose.

:( alan....

Sorry to hear of the loss mate.

Sometimes it is good to say/write certain things. Internet is a good place to do it as its there for any one to listen.

Very sorry to hear this mate, my Dad died a year and a half ago so I know how you must be feeling. My thoughts are with you

I know exactly what you mean Al'. I didnt know my "bio" dad was dead until well after he was in the ground. I never had anything to do with him for over 10 years before that but somewhere deep inside me I felt a loss? Funny thing you think you hate someone and then they die and it makes you think again. IMO.

I can sympathise with this..

I recently found my dad..after 35 years!! he left when I was a baby. Turned out he lived in America..and to cut a long story short it was like a Cilla moment. Put an advert in a Scottish daily paper, got a call to say I have a brother, got my dad's email address etc...thinking all is going well for a couple of years he gets diagnosed with MND and late stages of Kidney cancer..I am preparing myself for the worst but can't help thinking how tough it is gonna be never mind for people that have lost their dad!!!

Life sucks.....IMO

Alan, that's going to hurt no matter how you feel about him. My dad nearly died a few years back, and at the time we really didn't get on at all, but whilst he was in hospital I realised that if he did die I'd be devastated. Can understand how you feel. Thoughts are with you mate.
