Dell...yuuukkk!! Cheap but sh*te,,,

I just got myself an ACER Ferrari from DABS.COM. That is pretty good and they have a good range. The Ferrari is a very good spec and they do some nice touches such as carbon fibre lid, free mouse etc...very coool. ACER are good as are AJP. AJP give you a good spec for the money. http://www.ajp.co.uk

get a dell. cant get better. never had any problems whatsoever. i gt da desktop dads got da laptop (its his 3rd dell ) and they have behaved well. (hopefully will continue)

I'd Recomend a DELL too. Have been using Dell's for the past 7 years, PC and Laptop.

Have had my current Dell Latitude for 2 years now. Cost £1400 back then. Use it heavily everyday all day long, never had a problem at all.

DEL are what almost every large Corporation use throughtout their workforce.

I support about 1500 of them at work,,,and IMO they are cheap but cr*p...

Agree totally mate, overpriced and sh!!te.

When things go wrong they cost you a fortune.

The Acers are good value for the money.

Yep...big companies use them because they are cheap. I have bought hundreds of them because of that. That does not mean I like them but I am restricted by budget.

Cheap to buy but like they say...you get what you pay for..cheap sh*te...

They offer various options. You buy a cheaper Dell, then thats what you get.

Corporations buy them becuase they are very reputable company offering quality units with topnotch support services.

They dont however buy the cheapest basic spec units.

Not sure what company you buy for then dude...corporations buy them on cost..no company I know that needs to buy 1000 PC's, does so on spec, they do it on cost...

A standard Dell PC costing £691 to the public comes to me a lot cheaper...but thats because they use cheap components sourced cheap and with rubbish build quality. They have always been rubbish, all the way back from the Optiplex GXn, through the GX1, GX110 range. I buy them at work, I manage support teams looking after them, I buy their servers, backup devices, everything and in my opinion they are rubbish. I use a GX270 at work. It is a P4 3.2Ghz with 1GB RAM and it is pants. The build quality is sh*te, the PC's are put together badly and they are unreliable. I must have to order at least 10 hard drives a day because of failures...

Compaq were good but they have gone downhill since they were taken over but would still buy them over Dell.

For a home user ACER, AJP or even Sony are better than Dell. You may pay more for a Sony but look at the difference in build, quallit and reliability...miles better...

You sent me my AJP laptop in your Acer Ferrari box....thought i was gettin a pentium F-40 in my laptop

haha, it was the only packaging I had to make sure it arrived safely...

Thge ACER Ferrari is excellent. I paid £1300 for a AMD 64 with 1GB RAM, 120GB HDD etc. They have a carbon fibre lid and even give you some good little bits like Ferrari mouse etc. They even throw ina polishing cloth. Not many comapnies do that...especially not Dell...

All of this sounds so familiar

Anyway, Karl you are asking for a lot there. You are asking for a very fast laptop with a fast graphics for the price of an average laptop.
