I am looking at buying a 300zx TT jap import, very soon.

Its a 91 manual. With aprox 60k on the clock.

 

I have done some research and made a checklist of things to look at, but i was wandering if there are any major technical things to look for.

Thanks a lot for the link it was very helpful. I checked out the car carefully and found out that it was not a TT model. But the car seemed to be in very good shape and i drove it for about an hour. And finally got the seller to reduce the price quite a bit as i pointed out that it was the non-turbo model and i bought the car :).

However i was checking it out this morning and when the car is started and in idle i can hear a weird sound coming from behind the pedals as if its a boiling kettle :@.

Any ideas???

Congrats on the purschase. The gurgling is probably the AIV valves. They send air into the Cat's to help reduce emissions but condensation and then eventually water builds up inside, which is the gurgling noise you can hear.

 

They are located behind the Front wheel arches, and can be drained or removed. http://www.aus300zx.com/tech/aiv/aiv.htm
