Guest chunk Posted October 19, 2005 Posted October 19, 2005 Just seen this on Zclub.............. Just recieved this email and was told to alert as many people as possible. Its not a joke, this is happening about the UK, please read! Be aware of a new hi-jacking scheme. Here's what they do: You return to your car left in a car park, unlock your car and get inside, start the engine and shift into REVERSE and when you look into the rear view mirror to back out of your parking space you notice a piece of paper stuck to the middle of the rear window. So, you either switch off the car or leave the engine running and jump out of your car to remove that paper (or whatever it is) that is obstructing your view... When you reach the back of the car that is when the hi-jackers appear out of no where, jump into your car and take off! The door was unlocked, your keys were in the ignition, maybe the engine was running, (ladies would have probably left their handbag, with their purse, mobile phone etc; in the car) and they practically mow you down as they speed off in your car. BEWARE OF THIS NEW SCHEME THAT IS NOW BEING USED!!! Should this happen to you, just drive away and remove the piece of paper that is stuck to your window later....and be thankful that you read this email. If you think appropriate, forward this to all your friends and family...especially women! For the ladies a purse contains all identification, and you certainly do NOT want anyone getting your home address. They already have your keys! You may wish to circulate to your colleagues and friends. Quote

pete shrimp Posted October 20, 2005 Posted October 20, 2005 This same warning did the internet rounds a couple of years back  Word for word. Its a fake, same as the needles in cinemas, driving with no lights on etc. There's a website with lists of these known fakes but I can't remember it. Whoever writes this must be LTFAO everytime they see them posted on a forum/emailed etc Quote
pete shrimp Posted October 20, 2005 Posted October 20, 2005 And here's the same story ;) http://www.snopes.com/crime/warnings/carjack.asp Quote
Ken2 Posted October 20, 2005 Posted October 20, 2005 Even though it seems to be a hoax it could have happend in real life, but myself I always take the keys with me in a such situation. I don't know why, but I just don't want to let the motor run when I'm not sitting in it. Quote

Us British thrive on a good bit of scaremongery don't we :smw: :smw: :smw: Quote

Two young blokes in it and I could see a crash hat on the back seat. The pass' opened the window and said here mate be careful of that cable hanging down near your back wheel..............
