Guest Squidula Posted October 19, 2005 Posted October 19, 2005 Thats because the original engine in the p51 mustang was pants, it didnt have the range or altitude that was needed to accompany the bomber planes, so they used the RR merlin engine which allowed the p51 to become a very gd ww2 aircraft...thanks to british engineering Quote
