Ok I went to refill my tank today and I decied to fillup Esso supreme (rated 97 at pump).

Two things I notice instantly I stepped on the gas was (1), throttle response was better than with optimax. (2), car casted longer as well.

so I thought, hum.. its my imagination running wild. so I up the boost a bit to 15 psi from my normal drive setting of 8psi. And mine-o-mine, the turbo spoolup was nothing like I have ever felt before. Mind you I have ran 18psi before so I definately know that my mind was not tricking me.

Anyone ever tried the Esso supreme?

Is that a new fuel from Esso ? Have beed forced into using small amounts of Super unleaded (97 ron) from various garages a couple of times, and it definatly underperforms compared to Optimax.

Forgive me if i'm wrong, but you shouldn’t feel any difference at all between optimax/super and normal.

It will only have more resistance to detonation I thought?

no, definatly feel difference (hence their advertising claims for more throttle response and power too.)

Have always felt a noticable difference in all the performance cars (turbo and non-turbo) I have had.

As well as Better MPG.

This is Esso supreme not the old super unleaded. I used to think optimax hold the cards but definately not after last night (well as far my car is concerned).
