K4$H - WOW. ReZpect man. You got 500 RWHP

Oh man, nice one. Didn't realise you had all that work done to your car. You must have 50 grand's worth of mods on your car. What do you do for a living cos I'm gonna change profession! biggrin.gif

For those who haven't seen his list of mods, (I can't believe you aren't telling everyone about this list!), here they are: http://www.twinturbo.net/cgi-bin/ttnet_directory.pl?forum=main&user_id=42676

Oh man, thats one hell of a list. I've got a couple of questions though:

1) Is your power figure from a dyno or is it theorhetical (sp?). Got dyno sheets that you can post?

2) Do you have all the mods done at Silvia (I know your car is there quite often and that little lot must have taken 25 years to fit!)

3) What NOS system did you go for?

4) What make of injectors did you go for? And did you get 555s first and then they ran out of steam or did you go straight to 750s? Does it cause any idling problems?

5) You wrote "bigger intercoolers". Any more details? I want to get some but I'm worried about lag. What make are yours and do they give big lag? Is it a large centre intercooler or large twins?

6) WTF is a "AP Racing paddle clutch" anyway? Excuse the ignorance but I've got an auto! Never heard of a paddle clutch before

7) Where did you buy your T28s? From UK or abroad because I'm looking at these and they seem a fair bit cheaper in the US.

How long have you had the car for btw?

Anyway, well done mate. I see from ttnet this morning that you are going to 700 rwhp soon (can't find the thread anymore though frown.gif). You're gonna have to give me a ride in your car. You're in London aren't you? We should meet up some time soon. ReZpect m8.

Bet it can't make a decent cup of cha though! ROFL biggrin.gif

700 RWBHP? eek.gif

Feck man, you could sell us all a ride in that, maybe recoup some of the beans you've spent on the motor.

Nice.

Jezz.

Mr K4$H has been busy,

Last time I saw his motor (2 months ago) the engine looked fairly stock (apart from the AVCR stuff) and he had stock calipers?

Maybee K4$H has got another Z?

Wow thats amazing smile.gif.

I knew you must have had something to show for under the bonnet. I knew no one could have styling like that and such loud paint work without seriously modding it!

Good on ya! Why didn't you share that with us? Not all of us get jealous.

Can't wait to see her go.

By the way who are you insured with?

Bloody hell!, talk about responce!, i didnt even post it on this forum!.

Ok the reason y i didnt mention any of these mods b4 was cos of the fact i got knocked straight away as a new comer, just cos i wanted ur opinions on my ride. I waitin 11 friggin months 4 the conversion and just wanted peoples views on it. Anywaysz 4get that now, thats history.

Right sorry folks, i wish i could show u but no i didnt get the horsepower readout BUT Pete at SE can vouch for the dyno result. I was there with him when he was mapping my ecu. The other thing is, as i mentioned on the tt.net forum, about five of the listed mods (engine mods) are sitting in my bedroom waiting 2 b fitted. The rest of the mods are real. AND yes my aim is to go 700 with nitrous and i WILL do it. If Andy Elefthurio can do it, so can i!. Everything else in that list in terms of ice and stuff is true to its word. The list of mods below are waiting to be fitted.

750cc injectors

Nitrous

Bigger intercoolers

APEXI AFR

and the only thing which i havnt fully yet paid for is the bigger brakes as theyre the most expensive. Have to wait a bit b4 i get this lot fitted cos am getting married in 8 months and have to save every penny i can get!. These asian weddings aint cheap i can tell ya!!. But anywayz, ther u go.........

At the end of the day i know (and would like to) i will meet sum of u lot, so bullshittin' wud only make me look stupid. I have invested alot of oney into this car and my only goal has been and still is to complete it with the best quality and highest level products to get the hp figures i am aiming for.

Regards

K4$H------->>>

K4$H,

nice work mate. I am a little confused though by what you have said. You say you have not fitted the 750cc injectors. Does that mean you are developing 500rwhp with just stock injectors and a SE tuned chip?

Warren has T28s and big injectors and gets 430rwhp before he gets detonation so its incredible you can get 500rwhp with the same turbos and stock injectors.

How have you done that? Is it the way that Pete mapped your ECU or something?

Cheers,

Andy

Ur forgetting about the other mods i have. I am using 555cc injectors at the mo, have forged pistons (not the cheap type either), lightened, balanced crank, bored to 3.1 litres, dual air induction kits, mig wired and grooved deck face, reprofiled cams, ported n polished and matched heads including the "v", 3.5" straight through exhaust system from turbos with no cats and no rear silencers, light weight aluminium flywheel, lightweight underdrive pulley with adjustable vernier cam pulleys. This lot is capable alone of producing more than 500 hp but the injectors wont allow it. Its running at 100% duty cycle and still starts dettin' at the 500 hp mark. Car runs fine at 1.2 bar boost and still give a viscious pull so am happy for the meantime.

BIG REZPECT!

Nice to see another of the SE stable caining the competition and demonstrating that SE truly are the Daddy when it comes to proper BHP and highly tuned Z's wink.gif

I don't know of many other cars apart from Johnny Boys that produce that sort of HP??? Unless someone wants to enlighten us???

i'll be interested to see how your solabarics run with the amp set up you have who did the ice install by the way

Holy SH*T Kash, that is all I can say. What an impressive list of mods. If your motor is going in Max Power they will have to devote a whole page just to write out the list of modifications!!!. Well done M8, monster of a Zed you have there.

SE aint as bad as people make out. Yes sometimes u can b in 4 a long wait but with the results, its worth it. They workmanship is to a very high standard and Pete is also very helpfull in terms of advise and generosity. My car has not given me any problems since i had the engine rebuilt by them, runs sweet. I cain it alot aswell everytime i take it out. I personally wouldn't go 2 any1 else to maintain my ride. I trust them 2 look after my car. I dont always buy my bits from them i actually normally source them myself but wouldnt use any1 else to fit them.

Tooley - i did the ice install y?, wot do u find so interesting about my solabarics and amp set up?. The two class d amps are a perfect match for the subs. The b-line is unbarable. The car is deffening, but still produces quality sound at competition sound levels. Wud b interesting 2 see the db output of the whole system.

what type of fuel are you using kash?

And what torque figure did you get?

the reason i was asking is because the amps are good but i dont know why you went for the solo's was it a space issue

Sorry warren mate i really cant remember. I will b getting it dynoed again soon once a few bits have been fitted, so will let u know then.

Tooley - As u know bootspace in a 300 is pathetic and the solobaric 15" squares only require minimal space 2 run in, approx 1.5 cubic foot. I personally feel these are the best subs on the market which r under rated at 1000 watts rms aswell. They sound awesome compared 2 alot of subs i have heard. The only sub i think comes close is the JL Audio 15 but not as good in my opinion. I chose the solo squares after hearing a mates 300 who had the old round 15" solo's rated at 750 rms. They produced an unbareable amount of b-line too. If set up correctly they do sound the dogs bollocks. The thing with the solo's is theyre hungry 4 power so underpowering them will make them sound shite + can also kill em'.

K4$H - I dont profuse myself to be a expert like the boyz down at SE nor do i want to rag on your car - I think it is admriable that you want to get the car to that kinda BHP, and i wish you best of luck in doing so.

However a quick look thru your list of mods and a few things tell me your gonna have a bit more money to spend before you get there.

First 700RWBHP out of T28's is not possible - They simply dont flow enuff air to reach those kind of figure - You are talking the absolute max of about 600 rwhp from thos turbos if they are very well made and the rest of your system promotes it (i.e Manifold and Exhaust)

Secondly Just by Adding the 100 shot of NOS you will not add 100bhp to your power. figures

No matter what people say the Stock Block of the VG30DETT will not take the stress on top of full boost it will Blow especially on to - and since you dont have a progressive control system ( at least you dont list one) i take it that is what you have the bottle for.

Centerforce dualplate disc will not handle 700rwhp it will melt! Fast ! - no matter what they tell you - you will melt it buy a HKS or OS Giken one.

I take it you just forgot to mention Valve springs - at least i hope you did!

I also have to wonder if the Z will produce that amount of HP on its standard intake plenum - i haven't done the math or seen any other to prove other wise - however from the look of it i would have to wonder if the laws of liquid dynamics would physically allow it. I really do think you will need a custom single intake plenum for that amount of HP

Again i aint dissin your car - im sure it will be very powerfull. However for example if you look at the likes of Twinturbo Pete from Canada he has a there or there abouts setup and is only running about 530 RWHP without Gas i seem to remmember.

I wouldn't waste the money on the car to reach that figure anyway - it will be undrivable on our roads. I would Stick with what you have now.

Well put one other thing i really have to question you kash.

Traction Controll and Nitrous hmmmmmm i seriously hope no one advised you that these two work together cause they dont.

Hell i dont even think Racelogic would sell you a unit if they knew you had gas on the car.

And nico yes anything over the 600bhp mark on the wheels starts requiring alot of intake mods.

As we found out why i was detting, you wont go over 430bhp roughly if you dont lose the Stock intake system.

You effecitvly need somethign like a vpc.

Hmmmmmmmm - very interesting although i am aware of most uf the problems i will run into that u have mentioned. First off, u r right in saying that the car cannot produce 700 hp on its own. I meant 700 with nitrous and 600 without or thereabouts. 600 is possible with the standard plenum but with bigger throttle bodies, and also with t28's. I have seen the dnyo test result of andy eleftherio's car which produced that power. The valve springs and collets where a standard upgrade with the cams i had and as i mentioned to warren, if u look at my mods list, u will notice that i am only using the centre force dual friction pressure plate with an ap racing paddle clutch along with a lightweight stillen aluminium flywheel. The centre force started slipping in my car more or less as soon as it went in - its shit!, especially claiming that it is suitable for 500-600 hp motors. I have had two OS Giken clutches too. One triple plate and the other twin plate - these both started slipping after a number of months. The setup i have at the moment has held on the longest and is already showing signs of slipping. I think im gonna need 2 replace the pressure plate in order 2 resolve this problem. This has no doubt been a very costly mod, as u can imagine the costs for these clutches aint cheap!.Apparently, as far as i am aware NOS and traction can work together in the dry. I have looked into this and the launch feature works pretty good with it. But that was a 75 hp NOS system that was used on the car with traction. The way remember it being told was, use the launch feature on take off and introduce NOS later on when a certain speed and revs had beem reached.............or summink like that.

ive got to ask m8 have you won on the lottery or do you have rich parents or even better do you have any jobs going where you work

LOL - no. No rich parents, infact being asian, ur expected 2 contribute to the house hold once u get on ur feet. I work in IT from 9-5 and run a business from home with motorsports specialising in jap cars and also a bit of breaking now and then. Use 2 b in the import game until the market went shit. Am hoping 2 start a career in motorsports especially for the big boys toys, skylines, rx7's, 300's, supra,s etc. Aint mentioned it b4 cos i dont wanna steal other peoples business, instead establish more links to get bits from.

Well Kash I agree with you 100% wink.gif that is why I drive 500 mile round trip to let them tune my car.IMHO! I would not let any other muppets near it,When it comes to tuning SE rocks biggrin.gif.

Running ANY NOS with Traction controll is OK up to a 60 Shot according to Racelogic anyway

Anything over that is Suicide if you are using WET N20 - DRY is fine as the release is controlled by the ECU - however WET shot will be putting NOS and fuel into the cylinder via another injector which is not under the TC's controll. This will result in a Very big, Lean and expensive BANG.

Personally i would never Run NOS and TC toghether it is just too risky. . .

Andy Elephant has unique exhaust manifolds that were designed and built specially. I believed these were required to allow the breathing to work properly. Whatever you do to the intake has to be matched by the exhaust - it won't go in if it can't get out again !

These manifolds ensured that each of the 3 cylinders had an equal length on the exhaust side before they reached the turbos. This avoided turbulence I believe. The standard manifolds have a shorter distance to the turbos for the rear cylinders.

Kash, have you got something similar ? If not, it might be worth a chat with Pete about it as you could well find this a limiting factor.

Mods sounds impressive though - what sort of fuel consumption do you get ?!?

And what are you using to control the whole thing - is it the Nissan electronics or have you gone for DTA or something similar ?

Dave
