Anyone know what the average is for a stock? I was cruising today on the m25, had a straight, floored it, after the delay in the kickdown it went to 100 in about 5ish secs i think...is this normal or slow...dry, normal conditions...

sounds kinda slow...but I cud be wrong...

Stats I found on google :

80-100mph

1994 Toyota Supra Turbo 4.40 s

1993 Nissan 300ZX Turbo 4.41 s

1995 Honda NSX 4.47 s

1993 Mazda RX-7 4.50 s

1994 Mitsubishi GTO 4.83 s

Cant say how accurate they are. Depends on how well that particular example was performing, how many runs were done, road/weather conditions. Also does'nt indicate wether its Auto or Manual.

Depends what gear you were in, do you have an auto/manwell and did you have overdrive switched on if you had an auto?

yeah locations of test tracks would be good as there are to many government piggy banks around these days

never noticed 80-100 but 0-100 feels pretty quick! Can't imagine it taking all of five seconds. Mines an auto too, and know what you mean by the kickdown inconsistency.

But out of interest i'll try 80-100 next time i'm on a decent straight.

thats what i think...off 0 it feels rapid....except the auto lag and that irritating weird gear change slow down it seems to do in 2 up to 3 where it seems to knock the revs off, but then it pulls again and feels quick, but kick down at 80 doesnt feel too special...just wonder whether its my motor...

in a manwell i can only imagine its a lot quicker at least feeling because you can flick the gears and choose 3 i would guess...?

If 0-100 times are suposed to be quicker with an auto I'd expect the 80-100 to be a tad quicker in the auto as well.

It depends on the condition of the auto box - mine kicks down with almost no delay at high speeds. If I floor it at 80 it is immediate and 100 comes up very quickly. It can have a slight delay at lower speeds but not very often.
