I got paid some money on a sale recently. I used paypal to recieve the money and gave them my current a/c no. for the money to be sent to.

They do say it takes 5/6 working days depending on your bank, but i called my bank today and they told me there would be no hold up on their part from paypal. Still no sign of the money and i'm a bit worried as this is my first time on this sort of incoming transaction.

 

That was a week ago, wheres my dosh, in cyberspace somewhere? or are they always just slow? Someone please put my mind at ease :(

Do you mean that you buy stuff normally and it all gets paid automatically via paypal???

when you say used...how did you use them to receive money?...you mean via ebays auto payment scheme or just giving someone your PayPal address?

Have you received a confirmation email from PayPal yet as to whether or not the payment has been received by PayPal themselves?

Have you checked the PayPal account details and transactions?...if so does it say "Not Complete"

I have had instances where it can take upto 21 days for it to clear :eek:

Ok payment confirmed, money was recieved by paypal, but they asked me for a bank account they could send it to so i could withdraw it,gave them my current a/c and then did the transaction. Email telling me transaction complete, but wait 5/6 days, because some banks take a while to process.

 

But as I said my bank told me once the paypal money hit them it would be immediate.

 

And yes I have only used it to pay money so far. And that disappears from my account immediately :rolleyes:

It all seems above board and in order Blackmagic, you said you've often had to wait for clearance so maybe that's it. fingers crossed.

Ok...so if i understand correctly...

You gave someone your PayPal address for them to make a payment to?

You received a confirmation email that PayPal had received it?

Since then the money has left your PayPal account?

 

If you click on the "DETAILS" tab for that transaction at your PayPal account it should show you who/where/what account its going/gone to.

Have you double checked the account details you entered are correct at PayPal?

The way it usually works is that you receive the money straight to your PayPal address and then and only then once you have to asked them to transfer money to your account will it be done.

If you normally pay using PayPal do you always pay from your account to PayPal then to the buyer?

If so then have you only ever registered your bank account details or credit card details aswell?

If so then I would also check your credit card details to see if its gone their if you have both registered.

That is unless you have changed your preferences at PayPal to pay direct to your account.

Let me know what you find out then I may be able to help some more ;)

Have you double checked the bank account details you provided Paypal? Could it have gone to someone elses bank?

why dont you just ring paypal and ask ?
