anyone help?

Hi, i've currently got a 200 and been longing for a 300 for a while, a friend of a guy I know is selling his 300 and it seems like a good deal its a 91H uk manual with 106k on the clock in red. I've read the buying guide on the club site and from what I can gather high mileage early cars can be more trouble than they're worth????

any help much appreciated

Not entirely true mate. Quite a few peeps on here running high milers, I think Craigs has done about 140K+

Service history? You're through the main service e.g. 60K maint so all should be fine there.

Drive it and see how it goes or get someone from here to go with you just to be on the safe side.

History and decent maintenance are worth their weight in gold.

Good luck! wink.gif

Yeah - but he's got another one in 11k at that mileage!

They're every 60k remember....

Blimey cheers for the quick reply, just another thing if you don't mind, it's got a fnsh which is probably quite rare for such a 91 car. How much do you think it's roughly worth. I know you can't say exactly without seeing and driving it but any estimate?

Another thing, I'd imagine a few 200 owners progress to 300's but do you ever meet up because it'd be great to see a few good examples to know help know what to look for.

Cheers for the swift reply. couple of things if you don't mind, the car has got history up to 86k (now on 106k) any idea to its approx value?

Also do you ever have meets with the 200 guys as it would be great to meet up with some 300 owners who have good examples so i would know what to expect.

Cheers

I know that Az, what I meant in my own special way is that more problems arise from having a 60K maint done at Nelson...they have a unique art of either not putting the timing belt on correctly, messing about with the CAS etc.

Should be called the 60K "we'll fuck your car up, guaranteed!" service...LOL biggrin.gif

Blimey Thats one hell of an echo Dan G! biggrin.gif

Value....hard to say, FSH will be sort after, check the for sale section via the menu to get an idea.

Bear in mind UK 91 models can qualify for classic car insurance(about £400-£500 per year for 25yr old ish) so thats a big bonus, and it should have leather which may imports dont have.
