hi

I'm planning on removing the standard rear spoiler and fitting a replacemnt. Can anyone tell me if the factory spoiler is bonded onto the tailgate or simply bolted on?

Have a word with Chunkle mate as he has just done his.....:D

Mine was screwed and bonded with psychoflex (sicaflex or however its spelt), I wanted to fit a perspex panel to go with my Wings West mid height spoiler but as I had a nightmare of a job getting the psychoflex off i made a few bumps/dents on my tailgate, so in the end I got a copy made of my origional spoiler and cut it and as its now bonded on the tailgate all i have to do now is merge it.

Presume you know it leaves a few big holes on the tailgate when you remove the standard one.

You'll either need one of the types that covers it up or an adittional tailgate skin or perspex cover.

Z Centre has some pics and more info on their site.

Do a search bud, there are loads of threads about removing the spoiler.

There was a cracking link somewhere but i cant find it.

Screws, Clips, sticky goo!!!

You name it, its held on with it LOL!!

Just remember to disconnect yer brake light connections before you pull the spoiler off :D ;)

I found using the wire method almost impossible - I just used a bit of brute force and eased it up from the edges - came off without too much bother - I used some gardening gloves so I didnt hurt my hands though!

had to cut mine into 6 pieces with an angle grinder to get it off - the black goo holding it on is really good stuff...

sure mine came off no probs but you will find it was heavy as hell, your tailgate will shoot up when you remove the spoiler just watch your chin you have been warned LOL!!
