Yeah, I remember the difference when I got mine fitted - it was amazing !

what settings did you do ian. ie how many turns for adgustments.

I will never forget the first time i went aorund a roundabout. It was a completly different car. Very very cool im well chuffed.

I can't wait to get mine done- all I need is a set of springs!

What settings have you used Ian?

I let the guy at Nissan set them,The rear ones were at the setting that they came with, the front ones I have not had chance to play with them yet,I had these Koni ajustables fitted to a Cosworth many years ago,so I do know how to set them up wink.gif.

I can't remember which way the numbers go now, I think 1 is most damping (hardest) and 5 is least (softest), so ... I usually have mine on 3 unless I'm being loony then I set them to 2. (1 is particuarly harsh) In the winter I set them down to 4 because my theory is that the air is colder and therefore the damping oil will be thicker, consequently less damping is required.

I have also drilled 25mm holes in the plastic covers inside the boot, so that I can adjust them in a minute or two, rather than by disembling half the car.

AndyP,

I didn't realise the Konis were adjustable on the car (the rears)? I also thought the Konis were infinitely adjustable (ie no number markings). I could be wrong but I haven't fitted mine yet as my set came with none of the bits inside apart from the main units (come on Johnny, sort it out).

If you are using the Konis, could you take a picture of the holes you have made so that I can do similar when I fit mine? I'd like to be able to adjust the rears without having to remove the shocks first.

Andy

Just realised that my shocks are not Koni's but Tokicos ! They have a little red plastic clip on thing for the tops of the shock that fits over/around where the screw head is. Not sure how simlar Konis are.

Can't be faffed to go out in the cold and take a pic right now, but this old pic just about shows where I drilled the holes. They don't show once the vinyl cover thing is rolled over and you can get little plastic stopper things from Halfords which fit quite in neatly.

You will need a holesaw to make a neat job of it and a certain leap of faith to get the holes in the right place ! Mine are pretty close, but you do need a torch to line up the adjustment screw and the screwdriver.

once the kois are on the car you cant adjust them , the rear ones that is. They have to be fully compressed to go into the adjustment mode on the rear. The fronts you turn the nob errm towards hard lol.

Hi Andy,

thanks for that. I wanted to check whether you had the Konis or not because as Warren says, AFAIK there is no way of adjusting the rears whilst they are on the car.

Cheers,

Andy

Never mind damping,do'nt go out in the damp in those 'tyres' :-)

wheyhey slippy.

Craig,

its all very well having easy to adjust shox, but they are about as useful as a Supra owner on this forum if you dont bother changing the settings for track days, lmao (j/k).

BTW, if you think those tyres are bad, you should see the state of mine! Its like driving on ice and I get wheelspin if I boost over .4 bar frown.gif

Micheldever deliver and seem to cater mostly for performance cars so they should have that size.

Senna Micheldever everytime, i have always had the best price form them.

Did you not knwo Ian ABOUT THEM not being adjustable on the car well the rears at least.

Cause im not sure anyone knew (we were foobaard i think.)

But then again whats the point of having rears adjustable if your not goign to adjust them. That was why i went to the troubel of contacting KONI themselves and got the ideal settings from them and i even posted it somewhere so you would not have to change the backs after you put them in.

I am very happy with my Koni shocks, the only shit thing about them is having to take them of the rear to ajust them frown.gif

That's cackish!!!

Glad I didn't get 'em now, KYB's anyone? LMFAO biggrin.gif

Only joking guys, they sound alright to me but that is a bit of a bummer I must admit.

Yeah it is pretty KAK but then since craig has had his adjustables on he has done two trackdays and not adjusted them at all wink.gif so realistically i dont think it is a problem cause exactly how often do we do track events ect and drive at that limit.

Im well chuffed with these but would have preferred easy adjustment at the end of the day.

how much do these shockers cost ??

do you know any sites i can view and order off pls
