I'm fed up taking photos outside my grotty little semi and was just wondering if anyone has a good loctaion in the Midlands for taking pictures of the car. I'd like some nice industrial type backgrounds, instead of a nasty little clio or the neighbours Celica getting in the way. I'm sure I've seen some good ones on here so I'll have a flick through the rides section. I can't remember whose car it is but there are some excellent pictures taken at what looks like an airfield - with the targas off and the paint gleaming, I just can't remember whose car it was.

Not very industrial! It would be nice there's a good view from the bridge over the river Leam, but unfortunetly there's also a road there too. I'm not sure they would let me in with the zed though. I need to go back up home (Scotland) for some good pics. I've seen a few nice ones of a red zed in Scotland or Wales somewhere on here.

Croft quarry in Leicestershire should give you the backdrop you're looking for dude, but if you're interested in something picturesque, then you could try Stoney Cove. I've just done this sig for my mate, picture taken by The Cove: -

Coombe Abbey fella great gronds to take pics on ;) :D

Around Fort Dunlop in Brum? you can get some good pix under the M6 loads of concrete there. Crewe has loads of railway industry.

Sounds good. Might give that one a try see what I come up with even though I am no photographer.

Coombe Abbey. What's the ;) for. What kind of pics you been taking??

Croft quarry sounds good. I had a look on the internet but from what I can find it seems to be a working quarry. They wouldn't let me in would they? But it looks like it has lots of potential.

Anyone else taken good photos of the zed. I am fed up seeing my house windows in the background and thinking shit they need painting. I seem to remember calander pictures being done - are they around anywhere, or just on the calander?

I went to a country park/marina and asked the bloke if it was ok to take pictures of my car. I told him I was building a web site and was going to use the pic's for it. He agreed with a big grin. Pic's BTW were of my MG.

Very nice - I'm impressed. I especially like the third photo, and the first looks like it should be an ad. shot. So I suppose it would help if you take a good photo too.

The Peak District has a Zillion square miles of drop dead georgous scenery, AND some fabulous driving roads.

Now the autumn colours are due it will be even more stunning.

And on my other side is Sherwood Forest. Different but equally as stunning.

You want a differnt industrial background? Try your local scrapyard. Get permission to park the car in front of a HUUUge pile of scrappers and maybe with the Hi-ab or the big magnet hovering over your car.

Ha Ha! Some good ideas. It's a good excuse to go somewhere in the car and take some photos. I'd like a good one framed up on the wall. Just to piss off the wife even more. I'll have to post up the results. Anyone else got their favourite picture of their car to post?

Bring it to me, i'll get it on Mallory park for you and do a bit of drifting whilst pics are taken!! :D

Or, As Peach says, Stoney Cove as it has a few great back drops!

Glad yer back in a Z Rich.

Rich :D

Agree with Stoney Cove, very picturesque. And bloody busy the other weekend when I was there, as it's very popular with divers.

Question, Why do divers prefer it when it's sunny? As they'd still get wet if it was raining and diving anyway ;)

(Disclaimer: No need to answer, I know the reason ;) )

what about the chimneys of the old abandoned potteries in walsall ?? cobbled roads and red brick kiln chimneys .....taken in sepia i think it would make a great backdrop for a full colour zed .....
