Hi there, I'm going to be buying a 300zx in the near future and I was just wondering if there is actually a difference in acceleration between the cars of different years.

This webpage seems to suggest that the 1993 Twin Turbo model is the quickest doing 0-60 in 5.2 seconds and the 1994 model is almost a second slower doing 0-60 in 6 seconds. This seems to be quite a big difference.

So if I wanted the quickest model made, would I be looking at a

1993 Twin Turbo, 2 seater Coupe? Or is there really no difference between the different years?

Thanks in advance...

-Andy.

I think the SWB is a fraction quicker and then there's the auto/manual debate.

The manual is slightly quicker to 60 but the auto is faster to 100...

As Chris said. No difference in performance between years...although I think 1995 onwards dropped the Variable valve timing for emissions, which may of affected its performance.

So the SWB TT Slicktop Auto is by far the fastest Z to buy then :D

Nice one, cheers guys - I guess I'll be looking for a:

1992-1994 2 Seater Coupe but with manual transmition ;)

not all the data is correct i noticed some 0-60 were wrong, also the 1995 zed which is when the vvt was taken off was quicker than the 1994 is this right?, because i was told to stay away from 1995 on

Good hunting, you won't be disappointed.

Any manual model is harder to find though - not as many made and most imports are auto's.

The '95 is quicker than the '94 ?

Why's that then?

Then again you could do yourself a favour and do away with the grief. Buy a 300ZX from the for sale section on this site. you are more or less sure to grab yourself a good car that will probably be of a higher spec than a standard car?

Good luck on your quest. come back and become a full paid up member when you get the 300. its a great site mate.

No ones mentioned it because its now just a known fact in the same way as its a fact that too many pies make you fat!:D

I await the responce from the Dark Side!

White is now the quickest because it absords the least light and so has less resistance to motion!

no no no Bayside Blue is by far the fastest... and it's your lucky day as mine is for sale :D

Check out the for sale section mate, all the cars in there will be a good buy as they have been owned by club members not boy racers in it for a quick fix

Good luck on your quest towards Zed ownership, you won't be dissapointed!
