just took all 4 of my r34 discs into a local engineering shop as wanted them skimmed b4 i put them and the calipers on me zed. They looked almost as new with hardly any wear , but i wanted to get them skimmed and balanced to be on the safe side . They charging me £20 each..sounds good to me but wondered if anyone else has had it done and a price they paid ??

Sound expensive to me.

really does depend on what they did

just skinning the lip off is ok but to try and machine disks that have been used is an ar$e cos they are damn hard!! so you have to machine them slower.

also does depend whether it was a cash job ect ;)

they are skimming to discs to make them 100% true and then machining and balancing each one. and yes they are all used but have only done very few miles by the looks as there is hardly any lip at all.
