Rolling road

HI guys, had the zed on the rollers yesterday for a tune up and to see what power it's pumping out, the results were 326bhp at the flywheel which isn't to bad but i was expecting a bit more.

Blitz sus air filter

Superchips ecu

Bleed valves

removed cats

First thing is how can superchips claim their ecu gives you an extra 70bhp when clearly it doesn't.

Do you think i should change my ecu?

Secondly what exhaused do you think i should get,i want something with a good power increase which wouldn't wake the neighbours at 2.30am when i go to work.

regards Andy

It probably does give you 70bhp more, but that is after you have spent £3000 on other mods.

Where did you get the rolling road done? Who installed the bleed valves? Although you have it chipped you'll probably find the boost is stock. You need to install boost jets to increase the boost. Increasing the boost to 1 bar and with the mods you have you would get more like 370+ HP. Bleed valves on their own WILL NOT increase boost. Please tell me you did not go to Interpro in Bristol!

Andy don`t despair as a new member you may not of seen the results ofthe rolling road meet in November.I for one at the time was very disapointed in the results I got, given the amount of uprating done.I did also at the time vent my frustration via this forum at the roller operatives poor knowledge of how to do power runs on a car with an auto box(is yours auto or not?)Subsequently I have dicovered as originally thought that the incorrect gear was used ie 4th not 3rd the difference according to my new to run roller guy (end of month) is quite a lot and his opinion of the graph read out is not printable here.My point been do not take it as read what results you have, how it feels and performs on the road is what matters,

personally I am using the next run as a much a tuning aid as well as a power run.

And a resounding YES to changing your ECU

GET RID OF THAT CRAPPY SUPERCHIP.. Ahem rant over

*ALL* the superchip ECU does is remove the speed limiter! It does *nothing* else, no fuel maps, *nothing*

If you turn up the boost on that chip then you risk killing your engine - get a decent ECU - JWT, SE, MINES there are tons.. JWT being the most popular..

OK - rant over! smile.gif

Hi guys, The rolling road was done at Hi-tec in Birmingham, the owner has done quite a few zeds in the past so i put my faith in him.

The bleed valves were put on by Aldon automotive in Dudley.

as for chips i'll ring SE to see what they have to offer.

I have a '92 manual in black

Andy

Well dont take to much heed from the rollers cause i was also dissapointed in my run.

I mean honest Jeff if yours was underpower than so were all the rest ?

Get rid of Crappy chips cause that could prove costly.

SE chip is impressive and so is the JWT but my money is with the SE chip.

Exhaust? Blitz Reallize CAT back to go with that lovely SUS intake.

Ring Johnny for the zorst as he got me a rather nice deal.
