Well bought the chevy home last night and trial fitted it with bell-housing and box fitted.

Obvious mods needed upto now include having to extend the gear selector on the box as it's way shorter than the auto! :wack: -good job I cut a good length of poopra prop off then! :D

The sump needs notching-not a lot, but will give plenty clearance-think I'll buy a new sump and modify that(only £50!)

The o/s exhaust will be a challenge as the starter sits between the block and steering column-but apart from those little hic-ups well pleased how she sits in the bay! :D Here's a few pics-look at the room in here!!

This shows how close the mounts are to original points-quite an easy fab-job....

And lastly, I reckon I've lost a lot of weight(autobox weighs a fookin' ton!)

look how high she sits now and that's with the engine and box in!!

Only thing to do here is to get her finished with all ancillaries etc settle the springs and see if I need shorter ones! :smw:

Will keep em' coming as I go(if ya' aint bored yet!) :duffer:

i've looked into doing this with a drag race engine, (i wanted aluminum heads to keep the weight down) but the one i was looking at was 850 bhp + but i thought this would be undrivable, so keep us posted on the progress, NICE JOB.

Had yanks for years, V8`s are hard to beat !

Big, heavy ugly looking, but beautifull !! If that makes sense.

You will be doing plenty of this shortly !!

Alan......

Except for top end!! Usually they max out at 135-145mph even with o/d.

Ive owned two U.S Cars one a 88'Transam Carbed 5.0 High output 5 Speed Manual and a 90' Transam Gta 5.7 Tpi With 4 speed Auto (700R4 Box)

Both loads of torque but both maxed out before redline at 135-145mph..and these both were not stock after i had finished with them...££££'s Later

Thats when i missed my Zed Top End :(

Wouldn't mind a test drive in a New corvette or Dodge Viper SRT Though!! They are Impressive :)

Did You consider putting a Hemi in the Zed instead of a Chevy Small Block?

Not sure the Hemi would phsyically fit (width) in the zed bay ?. Awesome engine though.

I Agree!!! Would be nice though.

Apparently the new hemi's in the new Dodge Charger SRT are not True Hemi's.. :(
