any bikers able to give us some advice?

seen the above mentioned honda fireblade. (rr-x model)

its on a "t" plate with 15k on the clock, excellant condition, hpi clear mot till april 06. no history at all though  . its from a bike shop that i know well, so i do trust them in there.

do you think its worth this?

my previous bike was a suzuki rf900r that i thought was mint. just always fancied a blade from being young (dont know if the missus will though).

cheers in advance!

I sold the urban tiger RR-S model - best bike I ever owned - God I miss it.

Id say go for it - one of the best lads to ask on here would be chunk though

Id say you wouldnt be dissapointed.

The history thing would worry me a little tho.

I paid nigh on that for a 97 blade a couple of months back, though it did have 6k on the clock. If you thought the rf900 was a blast, the blade will re-align your reality. I had an RF before I bought my last blade (98) and the difference is astounding even though the RF was a vastly underated bike in my humble opinion. If you have the dough, go for it :)

about right with no history. TBH, most things on the blade are bomb proof anyway, just check gears (if it jumps out of gear its fork selectors, budget 500quid), rectifiers can go but 15quid from breakers. Buy it, your love it:D

Sounds good to me, The blade engines are very strong anyway, just give it a good test ride and use all the gears, put it in 6th at about 40mph and check for any grumbling noises althought you will get some chain noise, but dont worry about that!

If you do decide to get it, just give it a good once over, full service and grease up!!

The RF is a good bike, but you'll notice a huge difference with the blade!

Let us know what your decide! :D

At that price I would snap it up. Got the original blade myseld and they are as chunk says, bomb proof. Try and see if they will also chuck in a full; service as well. Never know your luck.

Check second gear well, being a wheelie machine, second tends to go first although not that often.

Good luck and enjoy the Blade.

1999 RR-X.

The 'Las Vegas Elvis' Blade. Probably the best carb'd Blade you can get.

No history is a bit worrying but cos it's from a dealer you have loads of consumer rights (far more than those printed warranty books suggest).

Summer's almost over, so offer him £2600! The asking price sounds good though.
