GT4 rally stages - WTF is that all about?? the rest of the game is great, then you try and do a rally and its like trying to drive a 300ZX with bald tyres over jelly - the car is just totally uncontrollable and wheelspinning all the time. Even a crappy Evo 2 (not even a rally car!!!) can easily beat me in my brand new Subaru Rally Car :confused:

and before you say it im not necessarily crap at it - im 75% completed.

ive played every rally game out there - colin mcrae 1, 2, 3, 4 and 2005, V-Rally 3, WRC Extreme 2 and 3, and the rally in GT4 is just absolute b0ll0cks!! :mac1:

lol, the driving missions - a few of them ive done in the first couple of goes. some of them are a nightmare. it took me over 100 goes to do the one where you drive the Ford GT around Laguna Seca and have to pass the Vipers and Saleen. it was like,

1st go: not bad (cos im relaxed), screw up on a corner, shrug shoulders and try again

2nd go: screw up on same corner, snort of laughter.

3rd go: start getting peed off with the 'random' suspension of the Ford GT (will it grip on this corner, won't it?)

9th go: suddenly do really well and actually get into the 3rd lap of 3 without giving up

10th-20th go: get no-where near as far as i did on the 9th go

21st go: crash on 2nd corner

22nd-29th go: crash on 2nd corner time and time again

30th go: make all 3 laps but come 4th... WTF?

31st-54th go: totally change my driving style - less aggressive more technical cornering. keep telling myself its me vs the track not me vs the cars, and i'll keep calm

55th go: bloody Dodge knocks me off the track at the chicane

56th-59th go: try to catch up with the dodge and force him off the road.

60th go: make all 3 laps again and come 2nd. :cool:

61st go: starting to get p!ssed off now

62nd go: glaring at screen - all time seems to have stopped as i steadfastly refuse to give up until ive done this mission

63rd-87th go: crash, RESTART, screw corner up, RESTART, hit car, RESTART, go way too slow around a corner, RESTART, car loses grip for no reason, RESTART, car grips too well [on same corner at same speed] and i go onto sand, RESTART, etc.

88th-94th go: bouncing up and down in my chair in a tantrum, snarling at screen, trying to keep calm

95th go: do excellently on first two laps, got a good feeling, 2nd place and last lap, heart thumping in my head, screw up on last corner. controller hits floor, HARD

96th-102nd go: miscellaneous

103rd go: same as 95th go, heart pounding as i nearly do it - going too fast and stabbing at the controller to try and keep control. hit Chevvy. f*ck it.

104th-108th go: can't remember - red mist

109th go: DUN YA, YA BASTID!

This is exactly why after an hour of GT4 it went back to the shop and was swapped for a game which wasn't going to result in the destruction of my ps2 controllers, my ps2, my house and any other objects/people in the near vacinity..... although it was swapped for Juiced which is too easy and the handling is very similar to need for speed underground 2 which although fun for the first few minuts gets a little dull and monotonous and unbelieveable. I DID however have a 212mph pug 106 that did 0-60 in 2 seconds....:D

nah i thought Juiced was supposed to be a cheapo version of NFSU - never played it yet tho. i could swear the GT4 game case is lined with cocaine to keep you addicted to it...

:rofl: nice one. Actually juiced is much more realistic than NFSU and also the cars perform more realistically due to mods and setup. Not a scratch on GT4 but next best thing. GT4 just pisses me off lol

The hardest one for me was the Honda JTC NSX around Suzuka. I think i won that by 0.003 seconds ffs. Took me for ever, and wound me up so much it almost went out the window :p

 

The last one in the Merc around the Nurburgring wasnt that hard, what you have to do is pass the 5th place car on the right hander hairpin just before the Carouselle.

 

Then do not get held up by any of the 4 cars in front of you. any wasted time here and you will loose lol. a good lap will see you pass the first place car on the last right hander before the long straight :p
