Help, anyone know what this type of cable is called and/or where I can get it from.

 

Its about 1cm wide, has 8 pins/wires inside and has the markings :

 

"Eternal Well E216131 AWM 20624 80c 60v VW-1 -F-"

 

I presume its some sort of Ribbon cable except unlike those inside PC's, it has no end connectors. I've been unable to find any so far.

 

Its out of a Touchscreen VGA Monitor for in-car computer, and connects to the buttons on front panel. I need a longer piece for extending.

How long a piece are you after???

 

I've found short replacement items (15 cm) but that's it.

if your brave (Ive done it before) you can cut it and extend it by soldering some idc ribbon cable - its tricky but can be done mate.

Couldn't you just extend them yourself? :)

It will be hard to find a cable that fits your connectors TBH.

Easiest way is just cut the existing one and solder some very thin standard cable into it.

Thanks, I'll have to call on the help of a work collegue to do that I reckon.......you dont want to let me loose with a soldering iron !

i will speak to my suppliers tomorrow legrath, if i can get it in time i will bring some with me sunday, no problem getting it, ican get it free by asking for samples of it, i usually get a few meters to try out from them of what ever i want.
