Pioneer In-Car equipment?

Bit of a long shot, but does anyone have any contacts or know of any good sources that could supply some in-car Pioneer equipment for a good price? I might be placing quite a hefty order and so far I've found a couple of places that are semi reasonable in the UK but at the moment it looks like the best bet is to import them from the US (through Ebay). However I'm always slightly wary of going down that route when electrical equipment is involved! Any pointers would be greatly appreciated! ;)

Cheers,

Leigh.

I bought my stereo from a place on eBay: http://feedback.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewFeedback&userid=expressbuy101, http://stores.ebay.co.uk/EXPRESSBUY-101-SHOP. They weren't the quickest to ship in the world, although they did warn of that in the advert. I bought a Pioneer DEH-P 80 MP MP3 for £229 including two speakers and a time when the head unit alone cost £400 in Halfords (this is going back about 6 montsh), so it's probably worth a shot. Only thing is I don't know if they're selling any Pioneer stuff at the moment.

The only thing I would say is that the system I bought is advertised as being DAB ready in the UK, in that you can plug a DAB tuner into it, whereas I've obviously got the US version, which claims to be XM ready. I've no idea what that means, although I assume it's a similar thing to DAB, but no idea whether or not it's compatible.

Cheers for that mate! :) The DAB compatability issue won't really affect me as the computer install will by-pass the need for a headunit. I'm actually after one of their AVD-W6210 touch screen monitors (http://www.pioneer.co.uk/uk/product_detail.jsp?product_id=4088&taxonomy_id=25-109) to integrate with their new AVG-VDP1 unit (http://www.pioneerelectronics.com/pna/product/detail/0,,2076_4025_192089326,00.html). That ebay company don't list either of them but I'll email them to check just in case.

Anytime. Sounds like you're building one heck of an ICE system. Wouldn't mind seeing pictures when you're done if you've got time to post any on the board.

Definately going to keep everyone updated on the build progress mate! Just waiting on the main bulk of the equipment to arrive from one of my sponsors, Nearfield Audio then I can get on with the job of building the custom door pods, sub enclosures (replacing the back seats) and sunken amp rack (in the boot)!
