Over the last few months, the car was beginning to look a little tired, so I decided to put her in for a makeover.
I was told of a guy who was a bit handy with bodywork. After several long talks I thought yeah he sounds ok.
The car was booked in and the new parts ordered. The job was basically to
knock out a few dents, remove the rear lights, fit the new rear light panel and paint the hole car.
Well this was three months aggo. The work all started well. All the repairs were looking good. But then it all started to go down hill. He had started painting It, but it was looking like he was painting it one panel at a time. I was getting concerned now.
Went to have a good look. The paint was looking really rough, but he told me he would sort it. Yeah like f**k
The car was getting worse and worse.
Well to cut a long story short. Yesterday I went over to get the car back, nowing it would still be in a mess. How right can you be...
The car was still striped. Most of the car is painted but not the t-tops or the shuts around the tail gate. The new back panel is fitted but he has'nt cut away the metal where the new lights fit in. The front bumper has been painted without removing the old sticky tape that was holding on the number plate, so now thats silver. Mirrors are still off, spoiler is still off. Just found some of the back trim has been broken and all the fixings for the trims are all over the inside of the car, along with the door cards and all the rubbers.
I am so sick, but I now have to get it back togeather.
I have decided to try and get the back lights in and wired up so that it is driveable. Then work my way through it.
If any one is breaking a Jap 90-92 I may be looking for a few trim and molding bits.
Thanks for taking the time to read this. It has made me feel a bit better just getting it down on paper.
Now be warned, People aint what they tell you they are...
