I have an S-tv lead to scart that i use to

watch stuff from my laptop to my TV, but wondered if

I can reverse process and record from tv to laptop.

The scart end of the lead has in/out switch on it.

Do I need special software???

you need a video input card, you can get pcmcia cards that will do this, winfast and haupage do them also a few others.

 

or a usb powered input box.

 

for the pc you can get haupage cards or winfasts.

 

but i have been using the new saphhire cards with the ati550 theatre pro chip the card has hardware mpeg decode/encode facilities, and its fkn amazing.
