NZR Buying from US

Looking at a set of golf clubs ( Boring Bastid I hear you all say!) on US Ebay. They are well cheap but what is the deal with import tax, vat and the like. Is it gonna cost me just as much as the uk? Dont know how it all works with buying from abroad so any advice much welcome.
