The story starts in October 04 when our Beko fridge freezer became too small for my missus. Subsequently she made it her mission to break it, low and behold i come home one day and she said she defrosted it and it wouldnt get cold after (my missus is the kind of peson that if she wants to get a new appliance she will break the old one!) anyhoo we go to comet and pick out a nice big Hotpoint (frost free) fridge freezer model no. FFA90. (i give you the no. so you are dissuaded from buying this model) We get it home let it stand and then plug it in. My missus initially says its noisy i said give it time it will settle, how wrong i was!! After 3 days the thing is still gurglin like a washing machine. We called comet and thats normal give it more time to settle. 1 week later we are asleep in our bedroom in the loft 2 stories up when we are woken to what sounded like a gun going off. We have been burgled so my missus is still upset 2 years later. I grab the bat thinking how am i gonna disarm a gunman i was sh*ttin em i go downstairs and find nothing, a couple of days later my daughter,5 is playing in the kitchen when again an almighty bang she screams and runs to the living room these bangs are coming from the fridge, then after we are told that "this is normal" by hotpoint the fan starts making noises like a garden strimmer "ice on the fan motor this is normal" to cut a very long story short 6 engineers and video footage of the noises, 3 visits to Comet 48 phone calls and they have finally said "we will exchange it for you." I had to call trading standards and they said if i have never been happy with the unit and have PROOF of this which i have, then i never accepted responsibilty for the appliance and i am well within my rights to get a refund. After practically threatening Comet with this i suddenly get "if you would like to choose a new unit from our store we will be happy to exchange it FFS!! is what we have to do to get customer satisfaction these days!! :headvswal :headvswal :xxx: :xxx: Has anyone had similar experiences to this
