The Press

I'm watching the news and they are showing footage of raids in London against the suspected terrorists.

The press are as bad as the terrorists. They are compromising the police officers safety and effectiveness everytime they speak or film something. They were showing armed officer kitting up and showing the vehicles they use complete with registrations. What is wrong with these people?

I appreciate they have to report on incidents but they could use some common sense.

Yep, been thinking along the same lines for years. Always felt the excessive media coverage slightly ruins the element of surprise with things like this.

yeah, its like those police camera action programs. Iwatched one that showed a police car that had been stolen, they eventually recovered it (without the theif in it) and the first thing they showed was the police officer going to the boot and getting a piece of equipment out and saying "im glad he didnt get this or we would have had some big trouble on our hands" (or something along those lines cant remember excactly). Why the fook did they show that, the next time a police car gets pinched the first thing they will do is look in the boot and get whatever it was he was talking about (pratt)

The press are vermin.. what really hacks me off is the need to sensationalise everything.. for example.. no one is ever shot..they are always BLASTED etc etc

Yeah, first he was shot 5 times, then it rose to 8. That's irrelevant, he was shot!

I used to work at a vaxhaull garage where M.O.D. cars used to go out fron new but top brass cars would come back after a year and be re-plated and resprayed and we are talking strip down to bare shell respray just to keep terrorists guessing

I quote from BBC News with reference to police officers "Many of them heavily armed"

Why state the obvious, I mean for fooks sake you're not going to send in police with a truncheon to arrest a suspected terrorist so what was the point in referring to guns!?

They make the police officers role almost impossible.
