before i took the car out last weekend (and realised my speedo wasn't working) i topped it up with about 4-5 jugs of water because if you remember my water pump was leaking (that or the two pipes above it).

well the car has been parked up all week and i drove it all this weekend and not a drop! it had been sitting for about 4-6 weeks before last weekends drive and i can't see how the leak has dissappeared. Checked the level last night and it was to the top of the rad, yes it was cold.

maybe a pipe expanded in the heat and caused the leak , Now its colder its contracted and not causing it mate. but be assured it will come back !!

nah, i drove it almost all this weekend in really hot weather, no sign of a leak at all.

thats what i thought noticed a few drips of water under my car searched for ages to find the leak.no joy ran it for a few weaks leak was very intermitent. Then on the way back from the ne meet (was givin it some i must admit) splosh the pipe split limped home stoppin every mile or so to check water n top up (took 4 hours to get home).just replace the lot to be safe. thought mine was the water pump but turned out to be the hard to get one at the front which seals a gap about 3 mill.

A more diluted mixture rediuces the coolants ability to find leaks, it's true :) Something about increasing the viscosity. JeffTT wrote a thread about it - have a search.
