what should i do?

Today I found out that I'll be moving back to Seoul Korea in the summer for a year or two, what should I do with my 300z? frown.gif

I only had it for about 3-4 months, and I'll be leaving in another 7 or 8 months, I don't know what I should do frown.gif

My grandma is doing bad so I'll be headed over there to help take care of her, my parents will cover my living exspenses, I'll get to relearn my native language (Korean), and reinforce my Japanese... But I'm going to miss my Z.........I'll miss driving ANYTHING at all frown.gif

Only good thing is when I go I'll be considered 21 in Korea so I'll be able to drink ....legally smile.gif

What should I do? Keep it in a garage for 2 years, or sell the car? >_

Maybe let one of my friends take care of it? frown.gif

I wouldn't let any firiends take care of it.

Accidents can happen...

To sell or to keep?

Well, you only had this car for a couple of months,

so you probably didn't do many mods yet.

Is it a low mileage car?

Is it special in any other way?

If not then you could consider selling it.

A garage is most often costly and the car is loosing it's value with time.

You could put the money in on bank account instead.

Zeds will get cheaper in 2 years but you may not be able to find one in good condition.

Good luck, anyway you decide!

that is a difficult desision.

When i move back to SA my car is comming wiht me even if it only is for a few years until the country self destructs frown.gif

Hey there mate(anyo haseo!)

I used to live in Seoul ('92-'96) and did part of my degree on the US Army base in Yongsan and Kunsan. Liked it there quite a bit. As your Zed is a left-hand-drive you could consider taking it with you. I had a friend in Seoul who shipped his ZX over for about $700 (from West Coast) and I could get you in touch with the "International Garage" run by Inscape (the guys who import and service Mercs, BMWs, General Motors and a few Porsches). As a matter of fact, I personally shipped a Cadillac STS for less than $1000 from LA and had it serviced by these guys.

Just another option for you.

Don't sell it and don't let your friends near it.

Cheers,

Danny

Not much just replaced all the rubber hoses, and zeemax panel.[/b]

Is it a low mileage car?

It only has 11.5k miles on rebuilt engine right now.

Is it special in any other way?

besides it being my dream for about 7years? I got the buy of a lifetime, I only paid $5,000 for a 300zx twin turbo with 10k miles on rebuilt engine, new clutch, and transmission, I won't ever be able to find another Z in this condition for that kinda price....

If not then you could consider selling it.

I know and a store away garage far in the boonies in my area is going for $50 a month, but 2 years that'd be $1200 just for storage.....

not to my standards anyways frown.gif

do you have a number?

Shipping is one thing but any other hidden charges? taxes, or fees to sending it over?

Just another option for you.

I don't want to >_

I will have a look for the number of the international garage - may take a few days as all the old paperwork is at my flat in Holland (and I'm in the UK currently).

The charges that you'll face (off the top of my head and may not be all inclusive) are document handling charges (both in US and Pusan), import duty (unless you can prove the car is only going to be used for a limited period of time and then exported), agency fees and you may have to pay road tax and registration fees. Again, this isn't an all inclusive list. I'll let you know the number when I get it. Also, when I was in Seoul there were probably only 5 or 6 ZX's in the country - so you'll be exclusive. Where abouts in Seoul are you going to? I used to live in Yonhi Dong, Sodaemun-ku. (I kow this probably doesn't mean anything to all the other forum members).

Cheers mate!
