I would just like to point out that my earlier comment on this has nothing at all to do with religion it is about the poor people and their families that left to go to work or about their own business this morning and had this happen.

Just got a call from antf, he is ok. He works just around the corner to Aldgate and he has been evacuated to the local pub...LOL.

 

my older brother works in Kings Cross underground, on the new euro tunnel, he's ok! not heard much else yet....

 

well they say that the attack wasn't intended to cause injury or death but to disable the London transport network and cause panic. All thats gonna happen now is nothing apart from injury or death to inocent people. Londoners are still going to use the transport services. So all this killing for nothing.

 

And Al-Quaeda have accepted responsibility on some site..... :mac1:

Just a question Russ and don't take offence, but what society has educated you and allowed you the freedom of speach and though. so you could come to your opinions and if I might add to think and believe freely.

 

 

+ my opinion of the outrage which people are expresing. I think its because our societys freedoms is the reason that different peoples come here, because they won't be persecuted for believing what they do. However now there here they are whish to enforce their views and opinions on us.

I work in the City of London and I don't think I've seen as quiet as this since September 11.

I know what it's like in London at the moment as I used to work in the city during the time of the Bishopsgate and Broadgate bombs set off by the IRA (I should have been killed in the Bishopsgate bomb blast, but had a hang-over and didn't go in that morning - the office I was due to work in was vaporised! :eek: )

 

It's awful, tragic and cowardly.

 

It's also the fault of our own (and mainly the US) governments and their foreign policies of manipulation and control.

 

It's hardly surprising that these people turn to an extreemist ideology. As far as these people are concerned they are at WAR, but it's not a war they can fight in the 'acceptable' way we would like it. These little shits can't go up against main battle tanks, helicopter gun ships and the most sophistcated fighters/bombers on the planet. They reckon there were over 100,000 civilian deaths in Iraq due to 'allied' action. These people have probably lost loved ones, but cannot take out their own rage and grief against military hardware that swoops down on their country by outsiders. Imagine if the tables were turned.....we had our own suicide missions during WWII, as well as the Japs and the Germans. We also killed over 1,000,000 German civilians in day and night time bombings with upto 1000 bombers at a time!

 

I wonder how IDENTITY CARDS would have prevented this?

 

I AM NOT CONDONING THIS ACTION!!!!, but saying that I can see how/why it happens. It is never fair that civilians are targeted while going about their daily chores.

 

My thoughts and condolences go out to the people and families involved.

On the question,have you ever been to Pakistan? Coz my mates have and there is quite a large white community there working from what iv heard, more and more British people are moving abroad to settle in foreign countries.

My opinion on the whole matter is that no matter how much you THINK you know about what's going on, you never know what is really happening between us and other countries all around the world. NOBODY knows the truth, so there is no point whatsoever speculating on the real reasons behind this attack, no matter who is claiming responsibility.

 

Whoever said it earlier in this thread is right, nobody will do anything about it, everyone will spout off about this and that and we shoud revolt etc. but it will all be blown over (for people not directly affected) very soon, until the next thing comes along. :headvswal

 

It is a real shame, and I really wish I could do something about it, but cold hard truth is that there is NOTHING we can do about it, and that is what saddens me the most.

Just wanted to say I've been in shock at today's events. I live VERY close to where these horrific things have happened. My sister is in hospital right now helping the injured.

 

If it was a few months ago, it would've been me on that very train heading to tavistock sq to exactly the place where the bus blew up.

 

Very scary.

 

Without a doubt there are people I know that were using the trains at those very stations when the explosions happened. I've got friends right now on the streets of london trying to work out how to get home.

 

The school were my newphews and nieces go to has been closed and turned into an emergeny help centre. Apprantly it was full of crying kids that were worried about their parents.

 

I never thought it would actually happen in London.

 

But after all that, views such as the one below, predujice and intolerance are the causes of such horrific events. tvrdb03's words below could welll be what people in Iraq, Afghanisitan etc. are saying, stay out of our country etc dont steal out oil etc..

 

I just wish people would show some compassion and logic. The world could be a better place.

I don't believe it to be out of order. Simple as this...if they were not in our country, then they cannot kill innocent poeple. They are killing innocent people for the actions of a few..they are without conscience or morals...savages...
