Hi guys,

 

Spent most of today replacing the front discs and pads on the zed exactly as on the tt.net website and got through it all okay But when i tried the car to test them the pedal just seems to go right to the floor while only applying minimal braking. if you pump it a few times it gives more pressure but just drops away again if you dont touch the pedal for a bit.

 

pretty sure i didnt get any air in but could be wrong and positive the master cylinder is okay because they worked fine before hand but just squeaked cause the pads were shot.

Does it sound like it needs bleeding? will i have to do this from the caliper or the abs unit?

 

Any ideas ?

I'm with takemetothepub on this one - I don't get involved in the forum - just watch from the sidelines - and have to say it is both disappointing and a shame that Jeff has to bicker with people, there was absolutley no need for the last posts after takemetothepubs comments and requests to end the constant bickering. So if you can't say anything constructive, don't say anything. I have to say if I was looking for a garage I would look for 3 things thatwould give me confidence that Iwas going to get a good job done - 1. feedback and traders on the forum -I've seen good stuff about Zen Garage as well as ztech - (there has been some stuff about zedworld too, but I see you're no longer a trader with the forum) 2. I wouldn't just look at price but also 3) professional attitude. There seems to be lots of business out there for all garages - so PLEASE can u agree just to give advise and not bicker. Just one comment though on deposits - I would fully expect to pay a deposit for a large job - as you would when u book a holiday or buy a car - it provides commitment from the customer and the business. That's my final word - apologies for the essay.
