My Motorbike is at my mates lock-up awaitng rear wheel repair for MOT. The parts have to come from Japan? (import bike) The DVLA have now fined me £40 for not taxing it. I have explained in a letter why it hasnt been taxed and as soon as it is MOTed I will back date the tax. I have just got a letter back saying this is unexceptable and the fine is now £80 as I didnt pay it before.

 

WTF they said originally if you have a good reason then write and let them know? I did and have now got to pay double because they think its a poor excuse?

I purchased a PUG 106 for my son and went to PO and taxed it. 7 weeks back. I still have had no LOG BOOK for the car so I phoned them at Swansea. They reckon there is no record of me ever owning or taxing the car. AND :rofl: If I dont do so within the next 7 days I will get fined for " Not stating Acquisition" of a vehicle. You just cant win?

maybe you're pissed off, but thats the way the system works and has done for a long time, they even ran a long tv ad campaign telling you about the increased fines not so long back, theres not much excuse tbh ;)

True, but they are money grabbing w4nk3r5 all the same! If you dont pay your library book fine do they double it in a week? NO! (not in my library anyway) Both are gov't run organisations, just because one is affiliated with motoring its seen us a cash cow!

Ok what you say is (fine) (excuse the pun) But to tell me to write to them and then double the fine because I didnt pay it in time is robbery? They could have at least started the allocated time from when I got the answer back.

 

Still I should have the Bike back next week and then I am going to tax it from August I aint back dating and paying the fine. :nono:

its called you are a criminal and an easy target because you pay up without causing hassle as you just want to be left alone to lead your no major criminal record life....

 

where as the real criminals pay it off 50 p a week..

what really pisses me off is how its innocent people who are always put out of place and who they make it awkward for...because they cant be arsed to nail the real *******s .

 

ie:theyve banned cameras in a park in london now because they cant be arsed to catch the peados so ill know well just stop everyone from using cameras

 

they do all this but why because if one wanted to take pics of children theyd just move themselves to a house outside a school, shut the blinds and buy a super duper camera etc

 

not on the same line but an example if you no what I mean where were made to live awkward lives

No NO NO! it is the same subject. Its all the same fookin subject and you are right to bring it up mate. What makes my fire burn harder is the fact that down my street there are 3 people that do BANGER racing. Nothing wrong with that I spose. But they have at least 2 or 3 cars at a time on the drive and even on the back of a truck outside the house. No TAX no MOT. No fooking windows or interior and NO HASSLE? whats that all about I got 3 cars (sons included) and my BIKE and my works van.... All legal other than the bike you know about........
