I have loads of music video's downloaded and i want to put them onto dvd. I do have a dvd burner on my pc but the only software ive tried is ROXIO and it takes years to do it !! And fast programs that will do it ??

 

And how many 3-4 min music video's do u recon i can get on 1 dvd??

I use ROXIO for mine aswell, and yes it does take bloody ages to encode it :D My master for the Zed DVD I encoded took about four hours (left it running over night). I would imagine the encoding time to be quicker for a higher spec processor, as I was running a 1.8Gb Celeron at the time. I've not got around to doing one since I replaced it with a 2.6Gb one.

 

As for how many you should be able to get on one DVD disc, that's entierly down to the file size/quality of your videos. Simply use ROXIO to give it a try, you can see the disc space used at the bottom of the window.

try a programme called svcd2dvd (no it doesn;t just do svcds;) )

takes far far far less time, you have to subscribe to get full version but worth EVERY penny of $10 (or cent lol), it reincodes a 2-3 disc vcd etc in about half hour tops, or a longer programme with all the bells and whistles is canopus procoder, both you can add menus etc

Video converting is probably the most CPU intensive thing your computer will ever do.

Especially converting one compressed format to another compressed format which will be played at Full TV screen resolution.

When I convert DVI (which is virtually uncompresses as I have 20 mins work over 20gig) to a DVD, it will take hours depending on which quality I pick to make the DVD.

 

DVDs can hold about an hour on Super Quality, 2 hours on High quality and 4 hour on low quality.
