I read in a previous thread that your THE man for vauxhalls :dance:

 

Ive got a W Reg Astra 2.0 SRi with a strange rattle i cant identify. It only rattles when its warm. The tone of the rattle doesnt change if I depress clutch, turn AC on/off, move steering wheel etc. Ive removed the oil filler cap and no change in noise so i dont think its the tappets. Also checked the heat shield on the zorst and seems fine. The rattle disappears as soon as i increase the revs.

 

Any help would be appreciated.

soz mate was asleep lol probably water pump or another trick is too remove the aux belt 15mm spanner should do it tighten to losen if noise goes then usuall aux tensioner removal is 1 torx e40 socket hope this helps failing that book it in to a master fit garage for a vvcr any vaux garage do them and its..... fwee they might be able to tell as i cant hear it from glos lol

LOL. if i could record it and post it i would bud.. ive been suspecting water pump from posts ive done in the astra forums but will try out the trick with the aux belt.

Not had chance to do anything with the astra yet. Been working on my Z all weekend... :dance:

bit like me ive now supplied 2 vauxhall dealerships with z32 piston ashtrays now and too make it worse.... suprise my misus sells her soupra and gets a zed.......oh....good
