Webmail has now been added to 300zx.co.uk, this is a very early form of some great software that is being developed and it has a few known problems, it does not support attachments and html e-mails inbound may not display correctly

 

TO use your webmail click on the webmail tag, then click on Change Alias, most of you will then only need to click save

 

however if your username contains a space or any other strance characters these will need to be removed, it is advised that you use an alias as close to your username as possible, you cannot use an alias that conflicts with a registered users username,

 

we do not recommend that you use this for ebay/paypal/online banking. Anyone caught abusing this feature will receive a lifetime ban, you will not receive your subscription back, this includes but is not limited to

 

spamming

pretending to be other users,

abuse to members/anyone else

 

 

If someone uses this to try and sell you services and they are not a trader on this board then please report that matter to me and Mac 1 and it will be dealt with,

will you be at any time implementing any form of live chat capability to this forum? im sure it would be easy enough to add in a java based live user chat facitity into the script for the server, if your not sure on this then i would ne glad to help get it up and running for you and then pass the code base and files over to mike.

 

it would be good to have a live chat base for the users as well as the msg lists.

well i will run up a java chat engine for you and you can try it out, i can get the files and stuff to you no problem by email or on disk, then you could try it out. i think that a live chat engine would go down well. i know it would save me making multiple posts!! i will get one put together for you mike and then you can try it out for a while .. no probz for me ;)

Beleive this has been mentioned before, and the response was that most people wouldn't bother posting as much anymore, especially in the Help section, where old posts are usefull to other members. Simple this information would no longer be posted, and would reduce the club to simply a chat room, which I beleive is not what the members would want. Certainly new members wouldn't pay to join a chat room, and a lot wouldn't re-subscribe either. (Incidently, I have nothing against chat rooms, as I run one) All IMHO ;)

yea i see but i was just offering a suggestion as it wasnt something here, also i wasnt aware of it being thought of before so i thought i would mention it.

 

msn is ok but it is in no way linked to this forum. however i dont think that the posts to the forum would stop or lower as members would still want a fixed source of information, also if a java based chat was used a small script could be added for chat users to select a region of text (helpful info) and then have it transferred to a chat based log file section where tips and info passed in the chat were stored on a files section based in the forum. this would enable users and member to rerieve this information in the same way they do now.

 

a log script is easy to implement and to add a gui interface to allow this is also easy.

 

but its just a suggestion ;) :)
