lambo doors

ok i finally ordered my hinges today.

i could of gone with the vdc kit or the decah but they are not good enough, the problem is the door wobble when up and they dont go the full 90 degrees upwards.

the ones made by gt factory are better and they are weld ons, however its easy to put bolt holes in.

i ordered mine today and they should be here in a week or two, as soon as they are i will post some info and fitting pics.

the pice is as follows

hinge kit $999

shipping $178

inc sales tax

$1177 total.

current uk converted price: £642.24.

and at this quality and price.. i had to have them..

heres the site

the hinges will be here wednesday...

one set of gt factory hinges the ultimate lambo hinge. gonne get them fitted the following week and get my boot lid sorted too.

all i paid for them.. £800 inc p&p

there is a company in the uk that stocks them now and is also prepared to offer group buys. but wit till i got mine on.

i almost got the decah vdc kits cos i was getting impatient, then i saw a set fitted again.. waste of time and crap.. dont fit them too many problems..

you had any quotes for fitting yet? these are weld on ones arent they?

here are some instructions that show the hinges being fitted in stages. the pictures can be enlarged.

i will be having mine mounted at a local engineering company i used to work at, i will be putting a reinforcing plate on the mount for the main bracket if im not happy with the strength of the side of the car, also i will not be welding it to the car door, i will instead be making a mounting plate out of some flat steel probably about 6mm thick and drilling the bolt hole into the plate, i will then weld the arm to this plate so that the arm just bolts to the door and the only thing i have to do is grind the main section off if i get rid of the car.

take a look here: http://www.aerokits.net/DiabloHinge/instructions.htm

as soon as i start fitting mine i will make a photo gallery and then pdf it all and put it up for d/l.

....... no door wobble at all..

Unlike the ones fitted this GTO at Thoresby last weekend...

When he opend/raised it, it wobbled from side to side....... Or it may have been him getting out... the owner is the slender-challenged bloke in the red tee-shirt at the front :D

EDIT** Oh! And YES it is PINK, and not a trick of the light in my camera :D

i bet they are decah vdc hinges or cheap copies. looks like they are on the way out, if the door is folding out like that it wont be long.

probably like that from his gentle use of the door to get out
