Right guys, ive come up with something for the next meet.

As we discussed in the last post, ive decided to plan a route to take the zeds for the blast they deserve. :D

I wasnt too sure how far everyone wanted to drive but i thought Ossian had a good idea of driving up by Fort William.

Anyway, here's what i came up with

map.bmp

Here is the route.

A909 Kelty

A823

Powmill

Glendevon

Crieff

Lochearnhead

Glencoe

Fort William

Dalwhinnie

Blair Atholl

Kelty

Thats a total of 246 miles and nearly 5 hours driving time.

If the suns out its gonna be a cracking drive. Plenty good roads, plenty places to stop, nice and scenic and a wee bit motorway to open them up :D .

So what do you think guys? Good idea or a load o rubbish?

If it goes ahead, we'll start off around 10 on Sunday 3rd July. I would have like it to be a bit earlier but at least this gives us plenty time to arrange and i should have the zed back :D

Stick your names below if you are interseted.

If nobody fancies it, i'll get a simple meet arranged for a similar time.

Cheers

Scott

We startin' or finishin' anywhere near them G8 protesters?

Its gone a bit quiet in here, is the run still on ???.

Scotty do you want to put it off till your cars back?

Ive got a heavy day towmorrow  and was planning on behaving

myself because of the run, but if its off or put back a bit then

its :duffer: :duffer: :duffer:

Ossian, thats up to those who are going i suppose. I very much doubt i will be there now and really dont want to delay it just for me.

It gonna be pretty hard to find another time for it...

July 9-10 T in the park

July 17 Fast and modified show

July 22-24 JAE

If you lot fancy, i could rearrange this weekend to just a meet and make the run later in the summer. I suppose that could suit as i know some of you are struggling for time etc...

You guys let me know and i'll sort it asap.

For now, here are the directions from autoroute

Hi John

I'm never going to get away with a whole day for a blast.. was hoping for a meet in Perth on the return run . TXT me and I'll be there

Siote, Shiote, Shiote.

:)

Not gonna make this one guys and gals.

Hope you have a blast today - will get to meet you all at next meet which hopefully will be soon.

John.

Back from the latest Scottish meet and run, a unanimous descision was made by all attending (me :D ) to change the route slightly. left from Grangemouth past Stirling then Callander, Tyndrum then through Glencoe at Ballachulish turned down the coast for Oban then back across country headning for Tyndrum with a stop at Loch Awe for a bar meal mmmmmmm! then it was back the same way I came.

The roads were a bit busy the first stage but from Glen Coe on it quietened down with plenty clear streches and multiple overtakes (only got a few remarks from the other half :nono: ) all in all a good run, but I didnt reset the trip meter properly so i dont know how many miles i did :headvswal.

Mabey nextime there will be more than one Z on the club trip :p

Ps Craig sorry but I never got anywhere Perth mabey next time though

Kewl shame there wasn't a better turn out but good to hear you had a blast. I'll be at Glamis next weekend if anyones going I wasn't gona take the Zed (Landrovers and tractors ya see) but it could be done. Drop me a note anyone going..

Craig

Wots at Glamis?

Devastated I didn't get to go, especially after Robert phoned me.

Got to take the car out, though - went from Paisley to Johnstone (my work), on to Galston Ayrshire, on to Airdrie Lanarkshire, back home to Paisley.

Believe it or not a Bravo tried to have a go at a set of lights.

LAUGH,

I almost took my foot off the gas

:)

lol, you never can tell what mods fiat owners carry out ;). sounds like he was pretty confident probably has a halfords after market air filter in it :D :D :D

It's the Glamis vintage vehicle show 9th and 10th mostly old stuff tractors and engines but a couple of the local car clubs will be there. It's pretty big but mostly old car and bike bit's if your into that sort a thing. Yep it's well funny when the kids try it on in there 1.2 corsas

Craig

I once fitted a Fiat 2ltr twin cam to a 1.6 lada riva dropped right in was good for a laugh. Zeds cost £35,000 in those days :)

Ah well, at least someone made it lol. Well done that man!

I'll get a meet arranged for some time early august i think, but the next show is Fast and Modified at Ingliston on the 17th for all those interested.

yup F&M for me

Unless the boss decides I am working

Er, did it happen? I was in Kelty at 10.0 - saw nobody. Saw plenty of steel fences and police later that morning when trying to drive up to Crief....
