hmmm. Mixed opinions on this one. I don't agree with people accusing people who watch it of being "spunk stains with no life". As a Sociological experiment it's un-rivalled. The data they are getting form these programs will be analysed for years and years. I myself studied Sociology and Psychology at College and I find it fascinating for this reason alone.

 

I do however agree that people who get genuinely upset when someone is evicted, or talks about it at work in the tone of an excited schoolkid when Mikosi grabbed Anthony's dick, or get's involved in the petty ground level emotional side of it is a little devoid of stimulus in their own life.

 

But yes, if there is nothing else on, and nothing else to do I will watch it, I especially enjoy it when the analysts are on the show, as I can compare my own opinions with theirs.

 

So I see it on a much deeper level than "reality TV".

Kay, I agree that it's a good sociological experiment (at least first time around), but is there much analysis done on the audience? If not there is little point in showing it on TV apart from drumming up the revenue, and making cheap TV.

 

If I want to be part of an experiment, I'll go down to my local University and enrol in one.

 

That now only leaves the reason for watching to be cheap titillation and socially acceptable voyeurism.

 

Surely it's better to have social interaction than watch it, same goes for porn for that matter :)
