I know that we are awash with IT people on here so I thought I'd give this a try. As many of you know, I'm off on honeymoon on 23 July for a 2 week break. Unfortunately, I no longer have any employees to hold the fort while I'm away :(

I'm looking for someone who can provide minor telephone support to my 4 contract customers whilst I'm away. Good support knowledge of the following is essential...

Windows 2000 Server

Exchange Server 2000

Veritas Backup Exec

Windows XP Pro

Windows 2000

Windows 98

MS Office 2000 Pro

I will be available on my mobile whilst away, but because of the time difference I don't want to be on call in the middle of the night. If anyone can offer their services (chargeable of course) then I'll be happy to answer any questions you have.

It's very likely that there won't be any problems at all, but for my peace of mind, it would be great to have someone here as a backup just in case. I'm a firm believer in sod's law

Please PM me or reply to this thread if you might be able to help..

I am familiar and already support all of the above exluding Veritas Backup Exec, and may be able to lend you a hand mate. What kind of support is it? System users or developers?

It's all end user support Ben and they are fairly clued up. Most of the phone stuff is straight forward "Log out the users and restart the server" sort of stuff. I'll have my laptop and PCAnywhere with me to sort out any biggies. I really need a first line point of contact to give my customers (and me :D ) some reassurance.

If you can divert calls to my mobile i would be more than happy to help you out mate. Might even take a couple of weeks of work myself and then u can divert to my landline number and i can play xbox all day :D I work in a college now supporting staff and students in using mainly office apps, but i also look after our windows 2003 server and our exchange server. As for win98.... there isnt that much to know and win2k is very similar to xp so happy days. The only software i'm not clued up on is the Veritas software... sure i could read up a few FAQ's etc on it, no problems.

Ben

Veritas is a doddle mate, I installed it on a W2K3 server and backed up an exchange server over the LAN with it.

You'll pick it up within a few hours if you've used Arcserve or any other backup sh1te! :D

Yeah used various backup software for servers before, shouldn't be a problem... transfering 700 BG of data over the lan though mate.... i know its a gigabit system but all the same

One of my best mates has an IT company and thats what they do IT support so i'm sure they could do something for you, let me know if you want me to put you in touch.

Cheers

Mike
