Am I being tight or do others also feel that in general the cost of modifications for our beloved Z's are a tad pricey? I appreciate we are a smaller market than more commonly modded cars and that manufacturers need to make a profit but still we are expected to pay figures like £500 for one piece of a bodykit yet some cars can get a complete bodykit for say £800. They are made from the same materials and they aren't that much different in size.

Moan over.

Agreed. ;)

I feel this applies to nearly all mod's available to us!

Not so,

Boost upgrade

Induction kit

Chip

Stainless Exhaust

All come in at under 1k, and pound for pound (60-80 BHP) you aint beating that.

Agreed, most people take one look at these cars and think we must be rich.

With the odd exception. I will submit I can live with exhaust prices as they are twice the material and product and have to deal with more power.

i agree there but that was one of the reasons i bought my zed so i looked like i had money, but in reality i have got fook all lol

I know that feeling!

i wish i took on the thought of the above before i blasted all 5k i had in my bank account plus credit cards  :p

Don't get me wrong I would love to spend thousands on my Z but lets face it, it wouldn't get me much!

And it would with a Supra or a Skyline would it ?

Me thinks you have bought the wrong car ;)

I think all the mods for Jap cars in the UK are overpriced compared with the US or Japan.

But then again we get ******** for most things in the UK, rip off britain !!

Cheers Martin

you pay for what you get, but must admit I did make sure I was sitting when I ordered the new clutch, paid less for my s14 :headvswal

Quite right Martin.

And Chris you are quite right too, on a Supra or Skyline I might just get new calipers after a couple of grand.

Again don't get me wrong a lot of thought went into being a Z owner but on the whole UK prices are horrendous compared to the US. That's not down to the individual retailer I know, it is the UK's tax system and import costs blah blah blah.

Chris, I'm not having a dig, I may be a future customer for an exhaust system when my hous esale goes through!

It's either the Z, or money - you can't have both with these babies!!

My theory is that being a minority with 300`s, Skylines etc they just don`t shift the numbers to bring the cost down. How many body kits etc get fitted on Nova`s, Corsa`s, Saxo`s etc? fookin hundreds so cost comes down. Probably costs the same to design/build a kit for our cars but only shift small numbers of them hense higher cost to be paid. Same with brakes, turbo`s and anything else, just not selling enough to bring the cost down. Just my opinion.
