lol My passenger seatbelt has the same ailment !!!

It retracts ok for me if I yank the bit attached to the door and let go quickly, but yeah it's saggy as a 70 year old pornstar for sure

mine used to be tight (almost like new) and would auto lock when i stomped on the breaks but since i took the door cards off for the bodyshop thyv gone all saggy :(

Did you fully extend the belts then?...Maybe they work on a similer system to the rear parcel shelf cover....I know that can be recoiled to be tight again so prehaps their a way on the belts?

Both belts are saggy at best. If you don't let them asthmaticly wheeze their way as tight as they're going to get before setting off, they lock in that position so you have to wait till you're at traffic lights until they carry on! Had a few worried passengers in the past; I just say they're impatient :D

Going to be taking off the door cards for audio reasons soon, so might have a poke around.

Got a saggy blue drivers belt, passengers is Ok. however Ihave a set of fully retracting black ones that will be fitted as and when the door cards come off for a speaker upgrade.

I had em replaced....IIRC there is a built-in (design) feature which allowed a certain amount of slack so the belt didnt get uncomfortable by snagging on your clothes etc... its electronically controlled...pop off the door card and there is a small connector which runs from the seat-belt unit...it controls the slackness if you unclip it i think the belt then operates as a normal retracting belt....shoot me down if i'm wrong someone...:D

as for the seatbelt, ive never worn one

i know a lad who had his head severed by one

also the first zed i bought was a 260 z which belonged to the drummer from def leopard, fortunatly he was in his mates car when they crashed it and had his arm chopped off.

Rarely use mine so not much of a problem.

Nornally if it goes saggy whilst driving you can click the button and it should reset.

It just so happens tha I have a pair of nice retracting belts from my series 2 for sale..... ;)

I had only had mine just over a week. My mate (supra owner) waltz's up to the passenger side where Rachel (my other half) was sat all comfy and opens the door. Nearly fookin strangled her poor cow. Mine are saggy, good bloody job I say or i'd be cookin me fookin dinner... :smash:

YEAH bad design by nissan

if your car turns over and your door flies open

god knows what would happen to you

My seatbelts are as tight as the fruit in a peaking Pinot.

WTF is one of them?

PMSL.....

  • 4 weeks later...

I only had one problem with mine, when i had an extremly oversized passenger, who will remain nameless, who pulled the belt out all the way and i had to take the door card off to reset the mechanism.

I dont let Chunk wear a belt now!!!

bellend!

lol

He was in his new Pontiac on the snake pass and he was waring his seat belt but it wasn't clipped into the pod correctly, proberbly due to him being out of his face. He lost control of the car and crashed through a dry stone wall and across the field. Where the front of the car dug in and fired him through the screan, because the belt wasn't in the pod it tore his arm off. I was present went they removed the car from the field.

The moral of the story is if he hadn't been out of town (so to speek ) and fastened his belt properly, he'd still have 2 arms.

Oh and by the way my belts are still spot on.
