Just read an article in the local rag, aparently the government are drawing up plans to shaft anyone with big-engined vehicles. In the highest categories were Range Rovers, other 4X4s and MPVs but surely the Zed must be in there too? It's allegedly gonna cost £900 a year for vehicles in the highest bracket. Does anyone want to buy my Zed

How the hell can they justify that ffs

probally cos some imigrants are bothered about pollution or something along those lines....

Zed for sale or swap for suitcase and one way ticket. fastest departure time secures

Its about time to start a revolution. I aint joking and I aint pi55ed. £900 P/A FFS.

this must stop now. a few years back the motorist...Well lorry drivers and farmers went mad,,remember? and something got done. OK it didnt last because the spineless motorists never showed any support. TAX. CAMERAS. PARKING. INSURANCE. EATING A MARS BAR. SCRATCHING YOUR BALLS. BREATHING. LOOKING AT YOUR SPEEDO. Wheres it going to stop? all those things I listed are already or are potential offences or a nice revenue for the government. Im fookin glad I didnt vote for the fookers.

they said something about this a few months ago and there was hell on, what about flabby ******* two jags prescot, it will cost a fortune to tax his cars which we will most likely pay for with another tax increase in our wages (christ i already pay £90 a week)

Oh dear!!

Yeah i read this a few days ago. How they can justify prices like that is beyond me. Not just shit for people like us but for companies such as Range Rover too.

I pay £6000 every three months for VAT and my tax is of my earnings

they are not having any more money off me the sooner I feck of out of this country the better If only I could make a few mill and live of the interest for the rest of my life..

Id be ot of here :xxx:

chris :)

Does the govenment think we are an unending source of money? They are turning the country into a rich mans motorway, where only the great and good can waft down the road in their huge cars while we are stuck in our ecoboxes. The rich can continue on through London where the average motorist has been priced onto the buses or tubes.

They are also taking money from the normal working people and giving it to the work shy binner council estate scum with 8 binner yob kids. I hate everything this government stand for.

God I'm depressed, think I'll go and sit in the corner and turn myself off.

that'll be me f**ked to i've got the z and a 2.5 bmw as if the govenment dont take enough off us now!! they give a raise in the minimum wage so most people across the board get wage rises then go and take it back on tax increases they really do take the p*ss

Bloody hell i'm depressed now. Don't know if I would pay £900 out of principle it's disgusting don't we pay enough already? The only high power car that might escape is the RX7 as it's only classed as a 1.3 engine.

Well at least I can say i never voted the *******s into power.

Except, IIRC, it's classed as a 2.6ltr by the VED people.

Now if you'll excuse me, I'm off to blow up parliament.

I was looking, just last night, at visas to other countries - seems Canada have a scheme for short-term visas for IT workers at the moment, which I might even be able to get into. It's looking more and more appealing every day.

ah,the old "lets scare em rigid then just increase road tax by £20 next budget day, then they wont protest, just be relieved its not going up huge amounts"

I will have £100 bet with anyone this £900 will never happen, political suicide,Labour are very good at manipulating the masses, bunch of ****ers

Tony

Labour are very good at manipulating the masses

So true. I mean, they got elected again, they must be!

I remember the week the Goverment decided to lower the Maximum cc for a bike learner from 250cc to 125cc. People couldn't sell 250's afterwards. They've done it before so they can do it again.

Yeh but this is just a political think tanks blue sky thinking, political reality is a bit different.

At the last election Labour managed to hold on to a fair few marginal seats in the affluent commuter belts by the skin of their teeth. These constituencies are the ones where people drive these kind of vehicles. The Labour Government is not going to do anything that will damage their standing in these areas, as if they did it's tantamount to political suicide come next election!!!! This will be another one of those think tank reports that will get some lip service and then disapear into the twilight IMHO.

The biggest piss off in all of this is you and I are paying these no brain idiots to come up with this crap when they know full well it will just be ignored!!!

I am not really up for a liberal government. But I do think they have a point with proportional representation. That would sort the men from the boys.

Just checked with my mate who owns a 1992 rx7 TT and he says VED is classed as a 1.3 so he pays a lower rate. He also said that some of the later rx7's are classed as 2.6 by the VED so they pay the higher rate.

They have more chance of getting £900 out of me than they do of telling me to paint my Z red  . No fooking chance at all Martha fockers. :nono:

As they say, journalists never let the truth stand in the way of a good story. Here is the original press release which is talking about adding one more band above the existing Band F. So not really "five-fold increase". And it only applies to new cars registered in 2001 or later so 300ZXs are unaffected. Dunno about imports since then, though.

I should be more worried about this road pricing scheme though - sat tracked all the time? No ta...

All this is because there getting p*ssed over people importing big american SUV's i.e: hummers, ecalades and navigators as they are 5.0l litres+++ even get up 7.2 i think. and becasue they say there to big for the roads.

Well what do you believe? That road tax is going to increase by a lot or that they are going to get rid of road tax and charge you to use the roads.?

The people won't stand for that one, just as they don't in the US. There would be a revolution!
