re trading

Hello, some of you know me and some of you dont, however those that do will know that I never usually moan about things, however I feel that it is time I did, I have noticed a couple of traders making comments on this particular post. We have a chap who has openly registered as a user on the forum in the last couple of days, openly selling parts from his car (so he says). When it is suggested that he becomes a member he says he`s going to join after he`s sold his parts....that`s a joke if ever I heard one. As an official trader on the forum I had to go through the proper channels to become one, we all pay to be traders whereas he`s just openly selling parts and hasn`t even bothered to pay anything. if anyone feels I`ve stepped out of line then I apologise, however I feel it is time something is said. I , as well as many other traders, have invested a lot of time and money to provide a service to the members of this Club, and to see that nothing is done about it I find totally frustrating, perhaps some of the other Traders would like to comment.

This is the thread that I talk about, now that I`ve had my rant I`m off to do some work.

Thanks

Yes i think he is taking the pish, that's why i posted, the whole non subscribed selling needs sorting out once and for all IMO.

No subscription should = no selling.

The people have spoken ;)

can we not do something about this guy then, unless its already been done, clearly coroborates my feelings that non registered users should not sell, this guy could be a trader for all we know like the rest of us, except he`s getting in through the back door, I seem to remember that I was in this position once, and when I put up a post about breaking a Z, it was deleted near enough straight away from the forum, and at that time at least I had joined anyway as far as I remember, I didnt know the rules then, and he may not either, but I had to wait patiently to become an official trader.

As this subject has been discussed to death before and the poll and responces clearly show the members agree, no advertising goods to non paying members, is there any chance Mike could implement this action now Mac ?

I would imagine we have the ability to simply block out posts in that section from non paying members, when they try to post a box appears, "sorry, you must be a subscribed member to post in here".

This has happened a few times in the past as we all know, so fingers crossed eh ;)

thats a good idea in the long run, however it still wouldnt stop a so called trader, because if he did pay the joining fee, he could join and then start selling parts, perhaps it could be linked to a minimum amount of posts or length of time being a member...just an idea

Just waiting for Mike or Andy to tweak the board;)

Sorry to sound like a stuck record, but this guy is still managing to trade on the forum, I thought this predicament had been sorted. He`s been posting prices yesterday or today, can anyone advise the position of the committee and whether it is going to be rectified, otherwise it`s just going to end up as a free-for-all, and I dont think in the longrun that`ll be good for the club....that`s only my opinion of course

Thanks in advance

Hi Mac

Appears it still can be done, although he might not be able to start a thread, he can still reply to them. I think in the end they`ll always find a way :smash:

they can only reply to threads in cars for sale, which makes sense as members may want to sell their cars to subscribed members,

The Items for sale section is locked down

the rest of the forum is open to registered users.

Hello Mike, thanks for that. I appreciate that registered users may want to sell their cars to members, which is a good idea, but it still means someone can register, i presume without paying, and then sell parts from a car when replying in the parts wanted section. He`s only made 2 posts as a registered user and advertised breaking a car.

WTF is the deal with Dave C? (missed that thread above) I've always thought he was a bit shady lol but don't know any details of his misbehaviour.

Stumbled across his old thread asking people for pics of your stuff Smithy the other day , something do to with an "investigation" he was conducting? PMSL!
