Jag XJSR thoughts

Any One Got Any Views On This, Xjrs 6ltr V12 1989 60k Though Needs Head Gasket Replacing..... Thoughts Please?

Featured Replies

not sure what it is your looking at m8, special edition??

i have seen a couple of xjrs but they were specially built, they are basically an xjs especially on that year and 6 litre

ive had a "few" xjs's and to be honest i wouldnt go back there, but they are a classic motor, another BUT lol, a 1989 jag IS going to have some body issues somewhere unless its been garaged and waxoyled all its life, so although a head gasket is not the end of the world (although a bit worrying its happened on a 60k motor) there are plenty of jags out there for CHEAP money without taking on one needing work, but be warned there are LOADS AND LOADS of dogs,

so be interesting what your looking at

Thanks for that. It is an XJRS, one currently on ebay similar... he offered a straight swop for my 300 and was wondering if it is a good deal..

Isnt servicing on those things astronimical.

no more than the Z m8, although doing the spark plugs on an v12 xjs is half a day job lol

re the swop m8? you know whether you want to get rid of your ZX

but deffo have a good look round the jag, especially if its been kept outside

ie spring hangers are a weak point, wheel arches ESPECIALLY if someone has put chromes on them, inner wings and headlights are known rot spots, lol could go on for ages

as i said i can't advise you whether to do the deal or not, having had loads of jags im not sure i would go back there (xk8 is my next move)

but i wouldnt let your heart rule your head as one needing work is a serious money pit;)

Cheers, I'm running a mile

paste and copy this into google m8

d12 xjs reg

that was the last one i had, i bought it from that garage about 4 years ago

and it still shows up in their database, it WAS a minter, problem was it was that nice i hardly ever drove it, and i then bought my zx and the rest is history lol, sold the xjs last year and to be honest i don't miss it especially with having the zx:)

Very nice though I do think I should stick with the zed

Well its a lot slower than a zed, does'nt handly anywhere near as good, has a dated interior, cost a lot more to maintain and fuel and has a dodgy used car dealer image.

But apart from that ;)

All IMO ofcourse :)
