Any one got times to post up?

I only did two runs as I arrived late and fancy top fuel cars seemed to hog the track.

 

I did 16.3 and 16.4 - both far worse than the last time I went (and managed a 15.8).

 

My car is due a service so maybe that's to blame. (NA, 2+2, auto, totaly standard)

 

 

 

I think some of the other guys got some decent times though!

Only 2 runs there at 9.00am left about 2.30pm. Lotta angry peeps there today :mad:

So many angry rwyb drivers :mad: that the organizers finally relented and gave us a clear slot late in the afternoon, WITHOUT all the proper drag stuff getting in the way. :xxx:

I dont want to spoil everyone else's good news(and there is some) so i'll just tell you what I did......

Personal Best of 90.71 terminal speed. :nana2: ( best 60ft timetoday 2.25.)

SWB N/A. Stock apart from Stllen Air intake system, Blueflame custom Zorst and a pair of Kuhmo V70A med compound 245/45-16.

Happy ?????? YUP! Well pleased with my results. Now bring on my tubular headers! The SWB 300 IS potentially a 14 sec car! With a few more mods! (Even with an old dodger behind the wheel!!!)

Firstly, congrats to Slick Pete, Steve (in the 240z) and SRRAE (Glad yer moror got you home :o )

 

Well, after a right royal organisation fook up, the day turned out quite well, I got a new PB of 13.044 @108.92 Soooooooooooo close to a 12 sec quarter!! I did do one more run and got a better terminal speed but fluffed the start and got a huge wheelspin of the line, but still did a 13.20 @ 109.20.

 

Just need to play with the profec E a little bit more and 12.??? here i come! :D

The car never missed a beat on the way home. Oil pressure was perfect, no smoke and I have done over 320 miles on 1 tank and still have some left.

 

I dont think there is anything particually wrong with ti.

 

Just need to know how what is causing the smoke which only occurs when flooring it.

 

There is no reason you should try to go for that 12s, its already been done ;)

It just saddens me that more forum members dont come along. :cry:

Its not expensive to take part, the food is plentiful and not at rip off prices. Its Normally a "yob free" zone which seldom has any "trouble". There is usually something "interesting "to see.We all get together socially and this includes Z Club members too who are taking part in the Z Club Challenge Series.

But hardly anyone comes!

And we are there about six times during the season.

Im trying to get my car finished for the August meet.

Itll be out of the bodyshop in about 10 days then its engine out,new tubs and injectors then a trip to Mr Dixons for the remapping :hyper:

I have to do it now as ive promised my son and if i dont ill get :mac1:

well done chunk you will get there, with that ET and that terminal speed your motor seems to be set up perfectly, hope you dont mind but here is something i've learded (maybe you know this anyway) one of the ways to get the extra tenths is tyre pressure and wheel dia, if you have larger than std dia wheel get some 16's on the front (less rollling resistance), on tyre pressure dont lower the rear tyre pressure to much it will give more traction on take off but it will slow your terminal speed a bit and you may loose a few tenths, there is a fine line between the right and not so right settings and they differ between cars so the only way to set-up is practise.

hoping you dont mind my rant you maybe do this allready not trying to teach you to suck eggs if you know what i mean.

Damn I wish I had come now... we decided to not go as the weather forecat looked shaky, but we spent the morning and some of the afternoon tinkering ( ie.strange noise diagnosing and fixing) and it didn't rain once, even thought there were black clouds all over the place! Bloody English weather

 

I need a new driving licence as well, so we will definately be at next months :)

Talking about big bhp and how quick it should be is one thing. Getting out there and ACTUALLY doing it is another league higher all together.

Just as the last few of us were preparing to leave a Pro Stock came out and did a FULL POWER RUN. 5.9 sec at 249mph! :dance: OMG!!! I dont wanna drive THAT quick ....EVER :shock:

I take it 1/4 mile times do not count if you run them in Scotland then.

No, they don't. Scottish seconds are longer anyway, as you are further North :p
