 As some of you know, I'm facing redundency here at the moment, and the future isnt looking too rosey (or Orange.... or any other colour either ;) )

So I've started to be a little Pro-Active on the job front, and within the rail industry there are numourous web sites where you can register your details, of which others can then view these details (I'm sure there are others like this). Well I registered my details this afternoon, and put in an application for, what looked like a good position with another rail company.

Well less than 10 minutes later I got a phone call from a different company offering me a job!!!! :D

The position would be on my side of the country, with loads of benifits (except a car) and at £10,000 MORE than I'm getting now!!!!!

The down side would be that I'd have to work for a living (somthing I've not done for the last four years ;) ), but the main one is that I wouldn't be on here anywhere near as often

Anyway, CV off by E-Mail tonight, and fingers crossed :D :nana2:  :nana2:

Thanks chaps :D

Another downside, I HATE interviews :wack: But, if I get it, at least I will be getting rid of the old Escort, as I'll have to buy somthing decent (and DIESAL :hurl: ) to travel about the country.

LOL :D

I use to work for GTRM (now Carillion) S&T new works at Grantham for 11 years, for the last 5 I've been involved with the set up and then operation of the test centre for Virgins Pendolino tilting trains over at Melton Mowbray. I'm now trying to get back into signaling construction managment in some way.

YAY!! Great news Dave, all the best matey!! :D

I started off in new works, in kent. Done work with GTRM and carrilion

I would like to add to this thread. I have already spoken to dave and would just like to say hello to Jock aswell. A bit pratish really but just like to say Hi to a couple of Fellow Railmen?

I work on the railways as you may have gathered S&T working with the Harsco Grinding Train. My area is the south and south east. including London.

I have basucally worked (on and off) for the Rail industry for all my adult life and really like my job. For which I am humbly grateful.

Good luck dave Will contact you as soon as mate?

How you doing Vini? we are a dying breed bud and I mean that seriously
