Hi all,
Came out my drive this morning thinking it was going to be just an ordinary day (or as ordinary as a Friday 13th can be). Went down the road to the mini island and was waiting my turn to enter traffic when lo and behold some very exotic material came cruising past ...
2x Ferrari Enzo (one red, one black)
1x Lamborghini Murcielago spyder (or whatever they call the open top version)
and 1x something which looked like a Spyker (not sure though but have seen it on TopGear).
All being driven by young chaps ... am I missing something? Is there a show on somewhere or perhaps one of those "cannonball ralleys? I don't think I've managed to retrieve my jaw from the seat yet and I must get the car valleted after drooling so much in it. I don't think anyone of us at that island could believe our eyes (or ears).
There are some lovely cars out there but however much I'd like to own one (or two, or three - and remember, I've owned a Ferrari 355 spider and Porsche C4S a few years ago ...) I still love my 300ZX with all its quirks and faults (and currently dents and scratches). It too turns heads and gets little kids pointing (as well as grown men and women on occassion) but only costs a thousandth of the price of a new exotic.
I raise my glass (containing some lukewarm water as I sit here at my desk in the office) and salute the 300!
Just thought I'd share this on what is for many a crap day (friday 13th and all that ...)
All the best,
Danny
