Got some yesterday for an unbeleivable price.

Thats 12p a litre cheaper than SHELL optimax in ware(98p).

Ive done about 100+ miles at the mo but it seems perfectly good to me...Might even fractionaly be better on the millage but id need a few weeks to really test it.

Not sure if its psycological or actual but it seems more torquey lower down now before the turbos kick in.

I was previously running ESSO 97ron so a 2ron increase may have just helped the engine breathe better.

Needless to say spending £18 a day on juice (20 litres) / £90 a week (100 litres) that a saving of 12p a litre is gonna add up to £12 a week which is £48 a month   I hear you say..yes...£48 a month.

I just hope this trial period goes well and tesco introduce it nationally without increasing the price too high.

I doubt they will be more expensive than Shell as they want to poach customers so im holding my breathe on that one too.

I know there not gonna keep it this low but hey....Im makin the most of it....at £48 a month thats extra bLiNg Zedtonions for the Zed

So untill I have the engine stripped apart for an internal inspection of the engine wear caused by possibly infferior petrol(which im not gonna feckin do).....then I fookin love the new GoGo juice.....Long Live Tesco

I think the only detrementel effect on my Zed is the fact that im driving it

:bow:All Hail TESCO :bow:All Hail TESCO :bow:All Hail TESCO

ps....its Friday 13th today

I've heard Impreza's get on better with OPtimax, and most others get on better with Tesco's

no idea why

my local tescos has mobil 1 is this there super unleaded, my petrol flap has a mobil 1 sticker on the inside so i assume this is what the jap guy put in before i bought it.

funny though cos i thought mobil got bought out by bp ages ago

Tesco's near Seven Kings and Ilford (on Romford Road) now has it as well.

Can anyone confirm this fuel really is as good as it sounds? I'm a bit wary cos I used some of Sainsbury's Super Unleaded (97 RON) and it sent me into safety boost, (detonation), back to Optimax and I'm back at full boost, just not convinced by their sales talk!

Cheers, Rich

Super is 97 ron

OPtimax is 98 ron

Tesco is 99 ron

The lower ron of Super is what caused your detonation

Cheers Legrath, it runs ok on Esso Super Unleaded though which is 97 RON!

Someone spilt beans in the fuel tank at the garage lol

Probably Si :)

lol, maybe it was the fact i topped up the tank with my own homemade orange juice to make it go a bit further!

Weve got a tesco in Bedworth, one in Hinckley, 2 in Coventry including a massive brnd new one built next to the new Cov City groundand guess what, n 9ron in any f them or even any plans to do them.

I'll stick to traveling 10 miles to my local shell i guess!!!

Hmm very interesting. So i guess your all saying its ok to run on higher RON fuel? im not so sure, i tried higher RON fuel in my car (UK car) although it did seem to improve performance and mpg, i feel this was the contributing factor in siezing up 1 of my turbo's? Could be a co-insidence? The car is pretty much standard apart from an induction kit and after market exhaust. It would be interesting to hear from anyone else who has incounterd any problems using higher RON fuel, or if anyone can convince me higher RON fuel is safe to use.

Many thanks

carl

higher RON fuel would have nothing to do with your turbo siezing!

use high RON fuel!! ;)

I found optimax was the best in my supra, 80 miles per 10 quid rather than 60 miles on the other ones and more induction roar.

I don't live near enough to a shell station to try it, nearest one is about 15 miles away

I popped down to Impulse Performance the D2 Racing shocks importer at Sittingbourne today, and had planned on my way back to test a tank full of the BP 102 stuff (that’s the one £2.50ish/litre), but one of the guys down there said why, unless you can afford to do it all the time its not worth it, even if you car runs exceptionally well with it. He had a point, and its 30 miles away from me, so a 60 mile round trip just to get petrol, I currently complain about the 14 mile round trip to the nearest Shell, but at least 60% of the time I can include it in a trip, whereas I never go to the other side of Maidstone (ok once today!).

No Tesco's near to me either!

i use all the higer RON fuels

TBH i get better mileage from sainsbury's 97RON than i do Optimax!
